DVD Review: ‘No Country for Old Men’ 3 disc Special Edition
‘No Country for Old Men’ took home almost all of the major awards at the 2008 Academy Awards and rightfully so, its a freaking amazing piece of cinema. The Coen brothers took a leap from their typical style of comedy and made an absolutely brutal film.
The story follows Llewelyn Moss(Josh Brolin) as he stumbles upon what seems to have a been a gigantic shootout during a drug deal gone bad. While sifting through the carnage he finds a suitcase with 2 million bucks stashed away inside. After taking the money he starts to get hunted down Anton Chigurh(Javier Bardem), a “psychopathic killer” as Woody Harrelsons character Carson Wells describes him. Not only do these guys show up but Tommy Lee Jones plays the “central” character as the Sheriff Ed Tom Bell who is the town Sheriff where the shootings happened. He is determined to keep Llewelyn alive once he realizes the cat and mouse game he is involved with over the money.
Anton is intimidating, sick, twisted, and completely unstoppable so much so that you will probably have nightmares about him at night..or maybe just about his hair style.
If you are a fan of the Coen Brothers, and dont have a problem with their crazy endings that sometimes leave you satisfied or asking yourself “what just happened” then you will fall in love with this one.
The 3 Disc is the best deal out there since you get 5 hours of bonus footage, plus a digital copy of the movie so you can be creeped out by Anton Chigurh anywhere you go!
