‘Watchmen’ Opening Sequence

By  |

The last time we heard “The Times They Are  A’ Changin” was at the closing credits of my favorite movie of 2006, ‘Lady in the Water’.   Written by Bob Dylan, it was performed by A Whisper in the Noise. I  was mesmerized by  M. Night Shyamalan’s use of it at the end of his “fairy tale” as it  invoked a very powerful message.  This time, we are treated to hearing Bob Dylan’s original masterpiece in the opening titles to the ‘Watchmen’. Funny how it still makes an impact no matter what movie it finds it’s way into.

The tantalizing opening title sequence to ‘Watchmen’ was designed by yU+co. They teamed once before with Zack Snyder for his brilliant ‘300’. We’ll see their innovative work once again when they have us zooming through space in the opening visual sequence  in next week’s  ‘Race To Witch Mountain,’ and later on in’The Soloist’ and ‘The Proposal’.
