SXSW 2009 Starts in 2 Days, Which Parties/Panels Have Us Excited?
Our SXSW coverage starts in just a little over a week and let me tell you that we couldnt be more excited. This will be our first year rocking SXSW and we plan on fully rocking it..Austin will definitely know that We Are Movie Geeks was there. Here is just a little bit of what we have planned for you during our 9 days in one of the greatest cities in the US.
Parties:
From the time I met Neil from Film School Rejects at Sundance he kept raving about how SXSW was a party festival and now I realize what he meant. Here is a short list of parties we plan on attending. Toss in after parties and we will be super busy with parties galore.
Carl’s Jr Blogger Party on Tuesday March 17th – This party was made for us! Hopefully we dont burn the place to the ground(not litterally).
The Bigg Digg Shindigg on Saturday March 14th – A Digg Party..at Stubbs, Yes please. Hopefully we dont burn the place to the ground(not litterally).
Official SXSW Film and Interactive Party on Monday March 16th. This is where everyone will be hanging out and probably celebs too plus the party is hosted by WHRRL. Hopefully we dont burn the place to the ground(not litterally).
Datapop 2009 on Wednesday March 18th. This is a badass party filled with electro music that will knock me down. Hopefully they dont burn us to the ground(litterally).
SXSW Film Opening Party on Friday March 13th We have to get SXSW kicked off right with a bangin’ hot party..yeah. Hopefully we dont burn the place to the ground(not litterally).
SXSW Block Party on Sunday March 15th. Do we really even need to explain a Block Party? No, especially with free drinks and appetizers.
SXSW Film Closing Party on March 17th this is the closing party for most of the industry who only stays for the opening weekend, but we will be rocking SXSW for a few more days.
‘Four Boxes’ Premier Party on March 15th..why wouldnt we party with Justin Kirk and the rest of the cast from the film?!
Panels:
Vivid Entertainment: The Sex-Driven Market on Tuesday March 17th. Seriously, its a porn company doing a panel which usually means they will have porn stars there like Meggan Mallone, and Hannah Hilton which are scheduled. YES!
A Stanley Kubrick Panel with Jan Harlan on Sunday March 15th. Come on, how often to get to see someone talk about working very closely with Stanley Kubrick? This is a must see Panel.
Robert Rodriguez and Henry Selick: A Conversation From the Third Dimension on Monday March 16th. Robert Rodriguez and Henry Selick..this will be a super packed panel.
Observe and Report: A Case Study – A Man and His Gun on Tuesday March 17th. This panel will feature Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Michael Pena, and Jody Hill so expect this one to be filled to the brim(thats what she said).
A Conversation with Richard Linklater & Todd Haynes on Tuesday March 17th. Seriously guys i dont even need to intro this panel.
