IÂ  noticed the newest ‘Star Trek’ trailer on TV last night and apparently so did England’s The Daily Mail.

With only six weeks to go before this year’s most eagerly-anticipated movie, film bosses have fuelled Trekkies’ anticipation with another sneak peek into the forthcoming Star Trek movie. A 30-second advert was screened on US TV last night, giving film fans more clues to the secretive plot line of the upcoming film. Star Trek is set for release in Britain and America on May 8 – one day after it hits cinemas in Australia and New Zealand. But Trekkies across the world were stunned when studio bosses announced the film’s world premiere would take place at the Sydney Opera House on April 7 – a month before its worldwide release. This will kick off a world tour that touches down in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Spain and Britain. The Australian premiere has disappointed Trekkies in the town of Vulcan in Alberta, Canada. Leonard Nimoy, 77, who first portrayed the Vulcan Mr. Spock, had joined a campaign for the movie premiere to be held in the small farming town. But the campaign proved unsuccessful, partly because the town has no cinema. The film is set before the original Sixties TV series and gives the backstory to the leading characters of Captain James T Kirk and Spock and their infamous rivalry.

“Cinema” or movie theater… always helpful when having a movie premiere. Click here for more pictures and the rest of the article.
