Jeff Goldblum Joins ‘The Baster’

What ever happened to Jeff Goldblum and this leading man persona he had for so many years? Â  He was always the coolest geek out there, and he was able to flip between these two characteristics like a light switch. Â  I guess it’s good to see he’s still working. Â  That’s the least I can say for the guy.

Goldblum has just signed to star alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman in the romantic comedy ‘The Baster.’ Â  Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the story follows a man (Bateman) whose female best friend (Aniston) plans to become pregnant with artificial insemination, but he replaces the preferred sample with his own. Seven years later, she returns to New York with her son, and he is forced to live with the secret that he is the child’s real father.

Goldblum will get to exercise his comedy chops by playing Bateman’s business partner and confidant, whose idea of working out is walking slowly on the treadmill while eating a candy bar.

You can currently see Goldblum on “Law and Order: Criminal Intent.” Â  ‘The Baster’ begins shooting in New York in the Spring.
