‘Inglourious Basterds’ trailer companion

So the teaser trailer is officially here for ‘Inglorious Basterds’, the long awaited Quentin Tarantino WWII epic. Since most people have NO IDEA what this movie is about I am going to set the record straight with this trailer companion piece. If you havent seen the trailer yet go HERE.

First, the movie is centered around Aldo Raine(Brad Pitt), an American hillbilly from Tennessee who puts together a team of 8 other American soldiers to take down the Nazi’s. When you watch the trailer and you ask yourself, “Why doesn’t he have a German accent? Are they pulling a Tom Cruise in ‘Valkyrie’?” the answer is no, he is not supposed to have a German accent because he is from Tennessee. As you can see from the above photo he also has a large rope burn on his neck, which will not be revealed why in the movie. One would assume he has escaped some type of hanging or lynching.

Here is a breakdown on the other main players in the movie:

Eli Roth(Yes, THAT Eli Roth who brought us ‘Hostel’ and ‘Cabin Fever’) is playing Sgt Donnie Danowitz who later in the trailer you can see taking a bat to some gnarly nazi bastard basterd! I cant wait to see how crazy Eli plays this character. Just check out this shot of him:

onto the rest..

Is that B.J. Novak? The guy that stars and writes for ‘The Office’? Why yes it is! This is only one of the big surprises we should expect as Tarantino also casted Mike Meyers as Gen. Ed Fenech who I did not catch in the trailer.

Some of the other cast members:

Yes that guy was big when he was a kid, but Tarantino has tapped him previously for ‘Grindhouse’ as Omar in both ‘Planet Terror’ and ‘Death Proof’.

The ‘Freaks and Geeks’ Kid, Samm Levine. He has seen the rounds since the end of ‘Freaks and Geeks’ and has made a bunch of 1 off show appearances.

This guy really is German, but is playing an Austrian soldier for Tarantino.

Some of the other super badass stuff from the trailer:

Crazy Machine Gunner:

Eli Roth wielding a bat:

You haven’t seen war until you have seen it through the eyes of Quentin Tarantino:

And the best part of the trailer:
