Blink 182 is back to take off their Pants and Jacket Once Again!

Ok, so I know this is not exactly movie news (yet) but at last night’s Grammy’s, Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge officially announced that Blink 182 is back together. I have loved these guys ever since I heard Enema of the State in 1999. I have every one of their CD’s, and still to this day think they are one of the best bands ever to see live. I am looking forward to their new album and new tour. If you visit their website, it appears that it’s all going down this summer. Rumors are that they will be going on tour with Green Day, which would be amazing. The last time the two went on tour together it was called the Pop Disaster Tour and was one of the greatest concerts I had ever seen. I can’t wait to see how this time apart has changed Blink. Personally, I’m hoping they take a step back to the lighter side and create a new album in the same tone as Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. It had a perfect tone, with some fun & light rock songs and some tracks that were dark and meaningful.

Since we are a movie website, I will make some movie news out of this. If you haven’t seen it yet, Angel’s and Airwaves, which is the band Tom formed when Blink 182 broke up, recently released a documentary called Start The Machine. In it, Tom talks about the breakup of Blink 182, some dark times in his life and often seems like he was hoping for a reunion of sorts. Although I would never condone it, the film is available in parts on Youtube. It’s sad that it took a plane crash to bring the band back together but at least they are back. And the idea of a hugely popular band breaking up, one of the members being injured in a plane crash and then slowly getting back together in a time of need sounds like an excellent made for TV movie to me. Let me know when I should start writing the script Hollywood.
