Sundance Review: ‘Toe to Toe’

This movie is advertised as being about a female lacrosse team, and winds up… not really being about lacrosse at all. Yes the main characters both play lacrosse but the movie is more like ‘Havoc’ meets ‘Bend it like Beckham’. Other than the teenage promiscuous sex the movie has very little to offer to your average movie geek.

The movie isn’t horrible, but it isn’t good. Its predictable, and overall just an average movie. My favorite part of the movie was the fact that Smash from ‘Friday Night Lights’ TV show has a small part in it. That being said, it should speak volumes about the fact it is my favorite part. It is really difficult for me to write much more about this movie simply because it really wasn’t fun or really enjoyable that much. It was one of those movies that we just wanted to walk out of due to how dull it was.

If this movie comes to a theater or video store near you, skip it unless you would enjoy a cross over movie that isnt nearly as good as either of these but runs in the same line as ‘Havoc’ meets ‘Bend it like Beckham’.
