Steve McQueen biopic is on the way!
Who’s a bigger “Steve” than Steve McQueen? One the coolest Hollywood icons to ever grace the big screen will finally get his life told in a movie. Producers Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters have picked up the rights to Marshall Terrill’s biography “Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel” of which Paramount has first-look options.
The yet untitled film will focus on McQueen’s Hollywood career, which was started when he landed a role in the 1956 movie ‘Somebody Up There Likes Me’. The star’s relatively short life was highlighted not just by his acting accomplishments, but also by his wild side. McQueen lived life adventurously, some may even say recklessly. McQueen had a passion for motorcycles, sports cars and even drugs. In the end, McQueen battled lung cancer. McQueen died in 1980 of a heart attack following surgery.
