‘Scream 4’ may, or may not, be definitely possibly happening!
So, a “100% reliable source” for BD.com is apparently confirming some of the rumors out there surrounding the fourth installment of the ‘Scream’ franchise that was officially announced back in July 2008. It’s not a truly surprising revelation, but the series was pretty cool and there’s lots of people that really love the movies. So, with that said, here are the “concrete” facts offered up by BD’s Deep Throat source…
- Kevin Williamson (writer of two of the SCREAM films) is going to start writing a draft, although it may or may not become the shooting script (which is typical).
- Wes Craven may or may not direct, but there is a very good possibility that he will return.
- They are making financial offers to David Arquette, Courtney Cox Arquette and Neve Campbell to play cameos.
- This will be a younger version of the SCREAM movies.
Sounds a bit less than definite on the details. I think it would be great to see Craven return to the franchise. The “younger version” part concerns me a bit, as wordage like that usually means it’s going to get dumbed down and teen-ified. What do you think? Bring it back, or let it slide? What would equal a “quality” fourth installment? Tell us what you think by leaving comments on the post.
