‘H2’ Viral Marketing Kicks Off Early

By  |

I, for one, am not getting one bit tired of all the viral marketing that is going on. Â  Rob Zombie and ‘H2’ are the latest to inject a little viral marketing campaign in to their film marketing.

Over at Rob Zombie’s Myspace page, which he updates frequently, his latest blog headline simply reads “What is Laurie Strode doing this year for Halloween?” Â  Once you open the blog, you get this image:

Upon further investigation, we find that the band performing at that party, Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures, refers to a 1962 Hammer horror film, ‘Captain Clegg’, or, as it is known here in the states, ‘Night Creatures’.

We get this synopsis of the film from Wikipedia:

Captain Collier (Patrick Allen) and his band of sailors show up to an English coastal town to investigate reports of “Marsh Phantoms† who ride by night spreading terror to the town. The Captain suspects that the local reverend (Peter Cushing) might be hiding something. Are the phantoms genuine or a cover for illegal smuggling activities?

Information was looked for on Uncle Seymour Coffins, but nothing has been found yet. Â  We’ll keep you posted on all the viral marketing associated with ‘H2’.

What do you think? Â  Is viral marketing getting out of hand? Â  Do you enjoy a good easter egg hunt of information now and again? Â  Let us know and let us know your favorite viral marketing campaign to date by commenting below!
