Spotnitz and ‘The X-Files’ refuses to stay down!

Writer/Producer Frank Spotnitz apparently still has faith in the awesome TV series turned lame movie franchise. Currently Spotnitz is apparently working on some “hush hush” TV projects, but has said he would welcome a third ‘X-Files’ movie. Spotnitz hints around that December 2012 plays a significant role in the X-Files universe, but that’s a ways off in the future to release a third installment and it would be competing with Roland Emerich’s movie ‘2012’. After the somewhat luke-warm reception of the ‘X-Files: Fight the Future’ and the very disappointing follow-up ‘X-Files: I Want to Believe’, is there REALLY still a market for a third ‘X-Files’ movie?
