New poster for ‘My Bloody Valentine 3-D’

So, here’s a look at the new “teaser” poster for the ‘My Bloody Valentine 3-D’ remake, due out in theaters on January 16, 2009. I wouldn’t have known it if I hadn’t been told… What a crumby poster! The worst part of it is that it doesn’t even look like a movie poster, but more like an advertisement for the “new” 3-D technology that’s rapidly becoming more popular. Oh, wait… there’s nothing new about that. It’s an old fad reaching it’s second coming. Sort of like bell bottoms…

There’s nothing at all to signify this is a poster for ‘My Bloody Valentine’… no title, no date, not even a “coming soon” and what about the image screams the title? Maybe if I stretch it far enough it’s that lots of people take their Valentine’s date to a movie… that’s lame! Oh, I get it now. The “glass” theater screen is being busted by something large and abstract that I believe is supposed to be a pick axe, as if you couldn’t tell at first glance. This is simply a case of failed concept and poor design.
