Will Samuel L. Jackson become Tarantino’s “Frenchie”
Another tiny bit of Tarantino gold has sifted through the dust from the recent rush of rumors circling his newest project ‘Inglorious Bastards’ whereas he’s apparently had conversations with Jackson about playing a role in the two-part WWII remake of the original 1978 film by Enzo Castellari. The movie will surely vary immensely from it’s source material, but in a good way. If anyones seen the special features on the 3-disc edition DVD of the original, you’ve seen how big of a fan Tarantino is of this film during his conversation with Enzo. Definitely worth a look, if you haven’t.
In the interview with MTV News, Jackson had this to say:
[“I called him to find out if I had to learn French or not!†Jackson laughed when we asked him this week, insisting that he’d love to reteam with QT once again. “Because the only black person in the script spoke French.â€
He said, “so do you know any black French actors?†I said, “what the f***?!? Yeah, me!†I gave him the name of some guys. So yeah we had a small conversation about it. We’ll see what happens. I thought the script was a lot of fun.]
