Best Movie Quote:

Scott: Stephanie: “You’re a virgin?” Luke Shapiro: “No. Naw. I just haven’t officially had sex yet.” – ‘The Wackness’

Travis: When thinking about what to choose here, I couldn’t help but keep coming back to “My allergic reaction made me feel beautiful.” – Shelley, ‘The House Bunny’ … but there are so many great scenes in this flick! “I gotta meet this freakin’ bird!”

Ram-Man: “You just couldn’t let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible aren’t you? You won’t kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won’t kill you, because you’re just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.” – The Joker, ‘The Dark Knight’

Jeremy: “Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I’m an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It’s fair.” – The Joker, ‘The Dark Knight’

Michelle: “My old man had a philosophy. Peace means having a bigger stick than the other guy.” and ” Is it better to be feared or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both?” – Tony Stark, ‘Iron Man’

Who Will We See in February (at the Oscars):

Ram-Man: We haven’t seen it yet. Ledger for Best Actor, but anything else will be tech awards. Wall-E for animation and Score. Gonzo for documentary. Picture, director, actress and suipporting will all come from the holiday movies.

Jeremy: ‘Bigger Stronger Faster*’ (Best Documentary Feature), Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda (Best Animated Feature), maybe Downey, Jr. for ‘Tropic Thunder’, and, of course, Ledger!   I swear, if Indy 4 gets a Visual Effects nod, I may boycott the whole show.

Michelle: Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Dir.),  Heath Ledger (Best Supporting Actor), Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda (Best Animated Feature), Andrew Stanton (Wall-E, Dir.), Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight, Cinematography), The Chronicles of Narnia (Art Direction and Best Costume), “Down to Earth” by Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman, Wall-E, “The Call” by Regina Spektor, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Best Song), The Dark Knight, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Iron Man, Indy 4: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Best Visual Effects), Man on Wire, Polanski: Wanted and Desired, American Teen, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (Best Documentary Feature), Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard (The Dark Knight, Best Original Score), Thomas Newman (Wall-E, Best Original Score)

Zac: All maybes, Heath Ledger (‘The Dark Knight’), Javier Bardem (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Christopher Nolan (‘The Dark Knight’), ‘Man on a Wire’

Nick: I can’t even begin to guess… ‘The Dark Knight’ will probably get several technical nods, especially for sound design, but ‘Hellboy II’ should see some Make-Up FX love for the Troll Market scene. Right? In my wildest dreams, ‘The Fall’ should get awards for cinematography and costume design, because nothing was more exquisite than that movie. And, of course, Heath Ledger should see some nominations. Visual FX will be between ‘Hulk’ and ‘Iron Man.’ What about score? Anyone?
