Walt Disney “Rolls” Out Their New Film “BOLT” Across America!
Walt Disney Pictures kicked off their publicity campaign for the new animated picture “Bolt” with the “Bolt Across America” Tour. The cross country tour is a fund raising campaign to benefit the ASPCA. They are doing this by having 4 “Bolt” super-fans roll a giant hamster ball across the country. Didn’t Jake Gyllenhaal already do that in “Bubble Boy”? The tour stopped in St. Louis last weekend as part of the Tour De Missouri Bike Race. They rolled the ball down 13th street to the Soldiers Memorial plaza where they performed a few tricks and honored 4 canine teams representing the department for their service as real heroes in the community. Two of the dogs recently placed themselves at risk during the tracking of armed felons and two additional handlers who have retired dogs that protected the City of St. Louis for nearly 10 years! Following the Human Hamster tricks the canine officers put on a small demo of how they “roll” by uncovering hidden drugs and subduing a felon. All proceeds and contributions went to the ASPCS or American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Check out the photo below for a glimpse into the festivities.
In case your wondering what a giant hamster ball, police dogs and the ASPCA has to do with Disney and the new film Bolt, here is the 4-1-1:Â BOLT is an animated comedy adventure featuring a super-dog named BOLT(voice of John Travolta), whose days are filled with danger and intrigue-at least while the cameras are rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood sound-stage to New York City,Bolt must begin his biggest adventure yet: a cross country journey through the real world to get back to his owner and co-star Penny (voice of Miley Cyrus). Armed only with the delusion that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and the help of two unlikely traveling companions- a jaded, abandoned housecat named mittens (voice of Susie Essman) and a TV obsessed hamster named Rhino (voice of Mark Walton)- Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero.
I always though dogs hated cats..should be an interesting journey. Bolt will Roll it’s way into theaters on November 21st. Be sure to catch the tour when it stops in a city near you!
