SuperRumors: Batman and Captain America…

No big surprise, but the rumors have really been flying lately around casting of some superheroes and villains alike. One of the most shocking, and easily the least likely, is that Marvel was considering Will Smith as Captain America. First, this would be a terrible choice for the character, but would almost guarantee a huge box office… but, it appears Marvel has already killed this rumor stating that they’ve never even considered him, let alone actually offered him the role.

Batman… yes, that one DC character that simply doesn’t want to go away. Everyone seems to be all-engrossed in the third (and presumably final) installment from Christopher Nolan. We’re all asking… “who’ll be playing the villains?” and “who the heck are the villains?” Michael Caine apparently has an idea, having stated that a studio executive has confirmed to him that the rumors of late regrading a certain Johnny Depp as The Riddler are true. According to Caine, his “source” confirms that Warner Bros has been seriously considering Depp to reinvent The Riddler and, ready for this… they’ve also been considering Philip Seymour Hoffman to reinvent The Penguin! So, as much as I’d love to see this happen, I am not getting my hopes set too high.
