Box Office Totals Sept. 26-28: Eagle Eye Finds It’s Way To #1!
Shia LaBeouf and the new assassination thriller “Eagle Eye” sent Samuel L. Jackson’s nasty neighbor drama “Lakeview Terrace” packing after one week in the top spot at the Box Office. Eagle Eye, the fast-paced action flick, raked in a little over 29 million for the closing weekend of September. A distant second was “Nights in Rodanthe” with Gere and Lane failing to rekindle any spark they had in Unfaithful. This past weekend also saw The year’s top crime fighter, The Dark Knight, fall after spending 11 weeks in the top 10. Here are the rest of the Top 10:
 1. Eagle Eye                                               $29,200,000
 2. Nights in Rodanthe                               $13,570,000
 3. Lakeview Terrace                                  $ 7,000,000
 4. Fireproof                                               $ 6,514,000
 5. Burn After Reading                                 $ 6,169,000
 6. Igor                                                       $ 5,500,000

10. T.P. The Family That Preys                     $ 3,160,000
Shia and the Eagle Eye gang will have to show some slick moves to keep the top spot next week with the football bio-pic “The Express” and the talking Chihuahua’s from “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” hit the street.
