‘Twilight’ Slides Into ‘Potters’ Old Spot

After Warner Bros. flinched and pushed ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ all the way back to next Summer, you just knew someone was gonna fill that hole in the schedule up.

Summit Entertainment’s much anticipated ‘Twilight’ is the film to take that spot.   It moves from its original December 12th spot to ‘Potter’s old spot of November 21st, the sweet spot before Thanksgiving.

A spokesman from Summit states, “The new release date for ‘Twilight’ allows the studio to both bring the film to the written-series’ enormous fan base sooner, and to present the film in more theaters prior to the holiday movie-going season where traditionally screen time for any popular film is limited.”

The only other film to be released on November 21st is Disney’s ‘Bolt’, which, given the much darker nature the ‘Harry Potter’ series has gone recently, is a good counter-programming decision.
