‘The Fly,’ now with more singing!
Most of you have heard that ‘The Fly’ was turned into an opera, and now, if you live in or around LA, you can hear the actual opera. Tickets are on sale at wwwlaopera.com for a reasonable $20.
An opera of a remake of a 1950’s sci-fi B-movie. It all sounded like so much bullshit, but…
It’s being directed by David Cronenberg, written by Howard Shore, conducted by Placido Domingo, with a libretto by David Henry Hwang, sets by Dante Ferretti, effects by Stephen Dupuis, and I’ll just stop there(even though there are more notable names associated with this mutant opera).
If any of the names aren’t familiar to you, then go look them up. They are all award-winning folk, and almost always work at the top of their respective game.
So get your tickets, and hurry, there’s only six performances.
Oh, and…
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
