Groovy News About ‘Evil Dead 4’
Sam Raimi shocked the world this year at Comic-Com exclaiming ‘Evil Dead’ will rise again. The main question everyone was asking, however, was, “Will it be a remake or a sequel?” and “Will Bruce Campbell be back?”
Well rest assured, the man they call Bruce will be returning to his role as Ash, Housewares.
“When he’s ready, I’m ready,” Campbell told MTV News about the prospect of reteaming with Raimi on the much anticipated ‘Evil Dead 4′.’
Campbell went on to say that the two had discussed in great lengths the direction the new film should go in and what will be next in store for Ash. One of the aspects that will not be ignored is Campbell’s age.
“Sam gets to hide behind the camera. I can’t. But I think he’s planning on factoring that in,” Campbell said about his age. “It’d be a major liability, you know Ash runs out of breath or his back goes out and stuff like that. I mean I just blew my hamstring fighting a stung guy for ‘Burn Notice’, the show I’m doing now. So there’s a little bit of truth to all that.”
When asked about the possibility of bringing along a younger sidekick such as those seen in recent years with ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, Campbell just says, “Yeah, not so much gonna happen in ‘Evil Dead’.”
“I think the audience would be insulted if you did, because then you feel this obvious pressure to appeal,” Campbell went on to say. “The beauty of the ‘Evil Dead’ movies is that you’re only appealing to one demographic and that’s people who like horror movies.”
