Discuss: A ‘Goonies’ Sequel !?!?!?!

Courtesy of MovieHole.com we have some BIG news for all the children of 80’s movie heaven out there (myself included) … after years of speculation, apparently a sequel to ‘Goonies’ IS happening! Clint from MovieHole informs us that his [unnamable] source is very reliable and I’ll take his word for it, because I want this to happen. If this wasn’t cool enough, apparently Warner Bros. will be giving it the proper big screen, large budget, wide theatrical release it deserves. I would have accepted a well-made direct-to-DVD sequel, but this is icing on the cake.

Few movies of the 80’s had the level of influence on me as a kid as this one did. It’s an amazing movie that contains adventure, terror, buried treasure, comedy and all sorts of other fun elements, including everyone’s favorite deformed giant Sloth. I mean,  how could you go wrong with this cast  … Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton and  Joe Pantoliano (Sopranos). Has anyone out there from my generation NOT seen this? [You are not  required to answer that.] For those who have, who’s your favorite Goonie? What is your favorite scene from the movie? With virtually nothing known about this sequel-in-progress, what would you as a fan like to see it become?
