Should ‘Robin’ be in the new ‘Batman’ ???

Its a question that is burning around the interwebs today, and the rumors are flying everywhere. Several sites are reporting that Christian Bale was quoted as saying “If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.”

Now this quote is coming from a very unreliable source, so who knows whether to believe it or not. I cant see Bale saying there is absolutely no way he would do a movie if Robin came into the picture. I think he knows if Christopher Nolan came up with it, it could be pulled off.

Now at first thought, Robin being in the new Batman re-imagining really made me cringe, but thinking back about seeing another movie with George Clooney Batman movie provoked the same response. So it got me to thinking..look what Nolan did with Batman, why couldn’t he do the same thing with Robin?? Now I am not saying I want to see him in the next movie, but down the road why wouldn’t it happen? Maybe he could bring in Dick Grayson as a separate movie… talk about how he gets started, like Batman Begins? What do you guys think?
