The 2 Sides of Anne Hathaway…

Lets face it..its hard to typecast Anne Hathaway, and the reason for that is due to the fact that she has taken on some pretty racy roles. She started her career off in a slew of Disney/Disney-esque movies..’The Princess Diaries’, ‘Ella Enchanted’, ‘Princess Diaries 2’. Then in 2005 she took on two roles that required her to do nude scene’s. Now this was quite a shock coming from the Disney princess we saw just a year earlier.

“In ‘Havoc’ Allison Lang (Hathaway), and her friends are confronted by a gang; a fight eventually ensues, and they flee. They then go to a raucous party, and Allison’s relationship with her boyfriend and best friend are revealed. The next day, Allison meets her father to discuss family problems, after which she and her friends head downtown. She and her boyfriend encounter a problem: her boyfriend wants to buy marijuana from a drug dealer (Rodriguez), but, after accepting them, he realizes that he doesn’t have the right amount. When he confronts the the drug dealer, he is held at gunpoint. While her boyfriend feels traumatized and emasculated, Allison can’t help but feel fascinated with the atmosphere she had just been exposed to.”

Now not only is that movie the absolutely opposite of ‘The Princess Diaries’ she also decided to make this her first movie where she decided to get nude. Now I am not certain if this was something she wanted to do to boost her career as she was already pretty big to begin with. She then followed that up with ‘Brokeback Mountain’ where again she decided to have a nude scene.

For most actresses having nudity in your movies can be a curse, just look at Elizabeth Berkley. It hasnt hurt her career, as she is one of this summer’s comedy blockbusters, and has a pretty promising career ahead of her.
