Steve Carell will Return to ‘The Office’

Yes, this is SWEETNESS! I know this is a movie site but I just had to let you all know out there that this is the best news I’ve heard in a while.

Ricky Gervais has revealed on his blog that Steve Carell (Get Smart) will return for three more seasons of “The Office.” Here is what Gervais had to say:

‘Steve Carell (now one of the most bankable film stars in the world) has just signed up for another three years with us. He is the hardest working man in Hollywood and the harder he works the better it is for me. I mean… well done Steve you are wonderful.” [via /Film]

Based on the hit BBC series, “The Office” has had a successful five season run so far. The stories revolve around a group of typical office workers, where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium. Stars like Carell, Rainn Wilson (Juno, The Rocker) and John Krasinski (License to Wed, Leatherheads) have all used the show to make the big move to the big screen.
