Steve Carrell is down for ‘Anchorman 2’

““Oh, absolutely,† Carell said to MTV News, as talk of an “Anchorman† sequel continues to build momentum. “Yeah, in a second.†

Just last week, Will Ferrell attended one of our MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week screenings of “The Foot Fist Way,† dropped a Ron Burgundy imitation on the audience, and confirmed that he and writer/director Adam McKay are in the beginning stages of plotting out a sequel. Now, the star of “Get Smart† has confirmed that they’ve been in touch with him, and that he’s eager to step back into the Seventies.

“I’ve heard some inklings as to what Adam McKay has in mind for a sequel, and it’s really funny,† Carell explained, insisting the sequel will once again take us to Pleasure Town. “But I couldn’t say anything more than that.†

Adding that he “can’t wait to find out† what dim-witted Channel Four News weatherman Brick Tamland is up to these days, Carell told us that while Brick may have loved a lamp and carpet, the actor feels the same way about his co-stars. ”

This excites me to no end. The first ‘Anchorman’ is probably the funniest movie I have ever seen in my entire life, and for them to do a second would be killer. I can still watch the movie and not get tired of it, maybe this time they will base the movie in the 80’s..I can see a bunch of 80’s hair jokes, bad music and all of that. wait, if this is the synopsis remember I came up with it first and I will collect my royalties.
