Screamfest Horror Film Festival 2004 Honors Stan Winston with Career Achievement Award

Stan Winston, Oscar-winning visual effects artist that brought us such film classics as Aliens, Terminator 2, and Jurassic Park, died Sunday at his home after a seven year struggle with multiple myeloma. Stan was a giant in the visual effects industry and his robotic/animatronic creatures were cutting edge. His studio was even responsible for the armor for this year’s “Ironman”.

Stan is survived by his wife Karen,a son, daughter, brother and four grandchildren.

Stan, We the Geeks, will miss you!
