Canadian Brent Butt set to make first film …

Canadian Brent Butt has been a popular part of Canadian television for a few years and has even found his way to American TV audiences through cable. Considered Canada’s “top-rated homegrown comedy,” Corner Gas is a sort of mix, combining the semi-dry humor of British comedy with the subtle quirkiness of shows like Northern Exposure. Butt, who produces, writes and stars in the TV series, has teamed up with Vancouver’s Brightlight Pictures to co-produce his first feature film. Butt will star in the still untitled film, of which he is also currently writing. Shooting will likely begin next spring.
