‘Street Kings’ was one letter away from me not seeing it …

If they had named it ‘Street Kingz’ my butt would not be in one of those seats. However I think we are going to go check this out tonight.

This movie has a long history, Spike Lee and Oliver Stone have both been attached to it … neither actually had anything to do with it in the end though. Training day writer David Ayer took it on and brought it a pretty impressive cast for this type of movie that includes Keanu Reeves, Hugh Laurie, Common, Jay Mohr, and The Game (so what?).

here is the synopsis: “Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) is a Los Angeles cop who has spent his life never having had to reach across the abyss from his world to the other. Ludlow’s life, however, becomes cheerless, dark and deadly, after the death of his beloved wife. Ludlow is pressed into action when he is framed for the murder of a fellow officer by those close to him. Deeper and more profound themes are interwoven in this story of a man’s struggle for meaning in a world that is increasingly controlled by outside forces.”
