Roger Ebert plans return to movie reviews soon …

. | For many of us, growing up into movie geek adulthood has certainly included our share of time spent reading movie reviews written by countless numbers of film critics. I personally have two critics I consider to be my favorite. One of them is the late, great Pauline Kael. The other is the iconic, Chicago local boy Robert Ebert. In case you weren’t aware, Ebert has battled cancer for a number of years now having begun as thyroid cancer, followed by an unfortunate bout with oral cancer.
Ebert has undergone multiple surgeries, losing his ability to speak as a result. He plans on making a complete recovery, but his struggle has removed him from many of his normal cinematic endeavors. In a recent article on Variety.com, Ebert said he plans on returning to writing movie reviews after his 10th annual EbertFest film festival taking place this month in Chicago. As of yet, he will not return to his television show as he is still unable to speak. Here’s to a speedy and permanent recovery. |
