‘Quarantine’ just isn’t doin’ it for me …

By  |

Every time I see one of the horror movie remakes come out, all it does is make me want to run out and rent DVD of the original movie. I am so tired of being bombarded with Hollywood remakes of Japanese and Korean horror films, that … in my opinion are usually far superior, not to mention entirely different in virtually every way from how Hollywood ends up butchering them. Now, a movie called Quarantine is being released, which is a remake of a Spanish movie called [REC] … and it was made in 2007!!! Why? This harkins back to when I about lost it over the 2002 Hollywood remake of Insomnia, which was a remake of the absolutely brilliant Norwegian film of the same name … made in 1997. Shouldn’t there at least be a time limit, like … a film has to be a MINIMUM of two decades old before you can do a remake. That sounds acceptable. Oh, then there’s the English-language elitists who say “I don’t wanna read a movie. I hate subtitles.” Two words … Tough S*** !!! Anyway, here’s the unimpressive trailer for the remake, which does seem to provoke memories of The Blair Witch Project meets 28 Days Later
