Dimension Films to remake ‘Short Circuit’

Can this really be happening? Johnny 5, the awesome military robot turned friendly human wanna-be via lightning strike, will be hitting the big screens Michael Bay-style. Dimension Films has purchased the rights to the film and has brought on the original creators and writers of both Short Circuit films, S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock. They will be writing the remake … hard up for cash, maybe? The “new & improved” Short Circuit is supposedly going to be similar to the original, but will be updated with more modern advances in technology. Seriously? They are going to remake one of my favorite childhood films, simply to showcase new technology, aka … show off new special effects. Kiss my A**! Sorry, but what ever happened to a  film becoming a classic? Why does EVERYTHING need to be remade? Yeah, hush … $$$, I know. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. [Blogger pouts and stomps off to his room, slams door and proceeds to strategically implement the “silent treatment” for an entire 30 minutes. That’ll show ’em!]
