‘The Low Dweller’ proves anyone can make it …
Do you know Brad Ingelsby? Exactly. I don’t either. Ingelsby is a man in his twenties selling insurance in Pennsylvania. He also happens to be a guy who just sold his first spec-script, The Low Dweller, to producer Ryan Kavanaugh (Talladega Nights, The Kingdom) at Relativity Media for $650,000. The coolest part is that Ingelsby has never even been to Hollywood. It’s that age-old fairy tale of some Joe-schmo scoring big from a few years of working hard on a 90-120 page screenplay. To make things even more amazing, Ingelsby’s unfinished script has already gotten the attention of Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio, who will co-produce, with DiCaprio starring and a good chance that Scott will direct. Talk about a first-time success story.
What is known about the plot is as follows: [Set in Indiana in the mid-1980s, the movie centers on a man (DiCaprio) trying to assimilate into society after he’s released from jail, only to find someone from his past pursuing him to settle a score. In addition to the pursuer, a third male character and a female love interest are said to figure prominently in the script.] — Variety.com
