Soderbergh taps Damon & Bakula for ‘The Informant’
Steven Soderbergh (Out of Sight, The Limey) has begun working on his next film titles The Informant. Soderbergh is directing this thriller based on a true story, following an investigation of a large agriculture corporation by the U.S. Government over price-fixing. The story is based on actual evidence given by the company’s V.P. turned informant. Soderbergh isn’t new to this type of film, having directed the hugely successful Erin Brockovich (2000). Matt Damon (The Departed, Ocean’s 11, 12, 13) has been cast as the lead and Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, Star Trek: Enterprise) has recently landed the leading role opposite Damon. Here’s a shocker … I really like Bakula and am thrilled that he’s finally been given a role of some distinction. I only hope he proves me right saying he’s got talent that’s untapped.
