Horror fan favorite Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday) has been summoned by Focus Features to helm Sacrilege, a horror flick that apparently is set in the old west. Marshall has agreed to write and direct this really cool sounding new twist on the horror genre. Could this be the beginning of a new sub-genre … the horror-western?
[“It is set during the Gold Rush, a time remembered for incidents like the Donner Party,” Marshall said. “It is meant to be a pitch-black, gritty, period horror movie.” … “This is ‘Unforgiven’ by way of H.P. Lovecraft, with that grim, gritty setting and a horror element nobody has seen before,” Marshall said.] – Hollywood Reporter
