‘Harbinger’ may receive Ratner’s touch of death

Paramount pictures has bought the film rights to Harbingerfrom Valiant Comics. The story follows a teenage boy with special gifts who helps others discover their gifts. The comic book series is being developed into a live-action feature by producer Alexandra Milchan (Righteous Kill), a relatively new, but busy figure in Hollywood. She is co-producing with Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men The Last Stand) and the rumor is that the film may become Ratner’s next directorial project.
If this be true, beware, as Ratner has apparently been looking for a “superhero” franchise to make his own, from the beginning. This Miami Beach native and son of wealth has proven that people with money are not inherently good film-makers. Ratner is currently still working on Playboy, the story of the magazine founder Hugh Hefner. |
