Animated
David Fincher part of new ‘Heavy Metal’ anthology
Once is not enough … apparently twice isn’t enough either. Heavy Metal magazine has been adapted into a feature-length animated anthology titles Heavy Metal (1981) and a sequel titled Heavy Metal 2000 (2000). Paramount Pictures is making a third animated feature film based on the sci-fi/fantasy magazine. The project will consist of at least eight separate segments, each of which directed by its own film-maker. In addition to co-producing, David Fincher (Fight Club) will direct one of the segments. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman will also co-produce and direct a segment, as will Tim Miller of Blur Studios, who will also handle the animation. The remaining directors have not been selected yet.
