‘Akira’ takes turn on the Remake Merry-Go-Round
[Sigh…] Warner Brothers has just announced a deal made to produce a pair of live-action adaptations of the classic graphic novel Akira. Now, there is part of me, be it small, that is intrigued by the idea of a live-action Akira, but the following information concerns me greatly: WB is rushing the project for a summer 2009 release. So, they’re taking something that isn’t broke, that fans adore, and they’re going to ‘fix’ it for us, but they’re not going to take their time and ensure it’s done properly. Yeah, I’m ecstatic.
