DOOMSDAY !!

By  |

No, not the unstoppable maniac that killed Superman. I’m talking about the Universal Pictures film Written, and Directed by Neil Marshall(The Decent). Doomsday seems to be a mixture of Escape from New York, 28 weeks later, and Mad Max. Scotland, along with some of England has been overtaken by a plague known as the “Reaper Virus”. The contaminated area was walled off, and left to it’s on devices. 25 years later…The “Reaper Virus” has gotten past the wall, and the powers that be are forced to do something, anything. Led by Major Eden Sinclair(Rhona Mitra: Skinwalkers, Number 23) an Elite team is sent into the “Hot Zone”. In a land that is a living hell, they’re challenged with the task of retrieving a cure that can save all mankind, and get out with their lives. Malcolm Mcdowell is usually brilliant, I’m hoping he’s in a villianous role. Bob Hoskins(Mario) Always makes me smile. Here’s an exerpt from Neil Marshalls’ Myspace “One of the things I was adamant about doing with Doomsday was going back to a kind of gritty stunt/action movie that doesn’t get made anymore. Real people, in a real world, doing really REALLY dangerous stuff! No green screen, no wires, just crazy stunties standing on, jumping into, and hanging out of cars travelling at 80mph and smashing into each other!” This should be a great ride to look foward to!
