Watch the new red-band trailer for the action-comedy 21 JUMP STREET. In the film, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier – and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.

I’m more than a little disappointed by the trailer – its nothing like the TV show. I wont go as far as saying they totally ruined it, but it just seems like another idiot comedy.

On May 17, MGM Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum and Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-Chairman Amy Pascal announced that MGM became a financial partner on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s movie. Sony will handle marketing and distribution, while MGM will handle select international television licensing for the title.

21 JUMP STREET is based on the television series, which focused on young cops with youthful appearances who work undercover in high schools and colleges. The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, from a screenplay by Michael Bacall based on a treatment from Hill and Bacall. Neal H. Moritz produceD the film with Stephen J. Cannell, who will receive posthumous credit. The film is set to be released on March 16, 2012.

To be honest with you, I thought Justin Timberlake was fantastic in THE SOCIAL NETWORK, so more of him on the big screen, either dressed or otherwise, is a good thing…right??

A young female headhunter (Mila Kunis) in New York convinces a potential recruit (Justin Timberlake) to leave his job in San Francisco behind and accept a job in the big apple. Despite an attraction to each other, both realize they’re everything they’ve been running from in a relationship and decide to become friends….with benefits. Say what you will about George Romero and the way the veteran director’s recent works have gone, it always excites us when we hear a new Romero/…OF THE DEAD film is on the horizon.  SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD is absolutely no exception, and, today, thanks to the fine folks over at IGN, we have the latest trailer.  Not only is it a trailer, it’s a red-band, ladies and gentlemen, so you know the red stuff is going to be well on display.

Without further ado, check it out right here and now:

Okay. Okay.  It might not feature the best special effects around, and the acting on display in this trailer doesn’t leave much to be desired.  That said, who can, honestly, say they aren’t a little bit excited to see this film.  If for nothing else, it can’t be as bad as DIARY OF THE DEAD, right?  Right?

SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD hits theaters on May 28th.  It premieres on VOD, Amazon, Xbox Zune and Playstation on April 30th.

I know that SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD played Fantastic Fest last September, and I remember hearing fairly good things.  However, I am not feeling the level of energy behind the people championing this film like I was the people denigrating George Romero’s last zombie flick, DIARY OF THE DEAD.  Nonetheless, whether people are excited for this film or not, and despite my own, personal distaste for DIARY, I am always excited to see a new, Romero …OF THE DEAD film.  This one is no exception.

That is why I am not going to watch this red-band trailer for SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD.  I’ll have no problem watching a green-band trailer, but, when it comes to films like this, it seems the red-band is there, because the trailer shows some gore.  I want to go into SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD without any preconceived knowledge of any of the deaths in the film.

The question of whether the 30-second MacGruber skits on SNL can translate to the big screen or not is one step closer, as Rogue Pictures released the trailer for MACGRUBER today.   My money is betting on “No,” and, after watching this trailer, which you can view right now over at Rogue’s official site, that “Yes” isn’t making itself any more evident.

The first half of this trailer is completely devoid of laughs, and then the red-band-ness of it all kicks in, and there are a couple of chuckles here and there.   It still isn’t selling it for me, and I couldn’t help but notice even with this being red-band there is still some obvious dubbing going on here.

What the f*@% is up with that?

Nevertheless, anything with Powers Boothe and Val Kilmer is win enough to get my hard-earned cash.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The more I see of KICK-ASS (coming this April from Matthew Vaugh), the better this flick looks! The film screen last weekend at AICN‘s BUTT-NUMB-ATHON (to celebrate the birthday of EIC Harry Knowles) and the reception was phenomenal. Devin Faraci from CHUD even hailed it as “the single best Western action film [he's] seen in decades” and that is enough for me to see this film the first chance I get!

What we got today, was a new RED BAND trailer/clip featuring the young Hit Girl (apparently played wonderfully by Chloe Moretz) in which we get a glimpse of the joyous visceral action that she is involved in. Her father in the film, Big Daddy (played by Nicolas Cage) has trained her to be an assasin and “kill the bad guys.” If this is what we are looking forward to, then count me 150% in!!

So much for free will.   God’s taking our asses out, and he’s decided to do it in gory, R-rated fashion.   Luckily for us, the archangel Michael has come to Earth to save us.   He, a diner full of notable actors, and some pretty heavy artillery are going to fight off the forces of Heaven before the Apocalypse can rear its ugly head.

Luckily for all of us, we have a teaser for this battle to the end.   Through its Myspace page, we have this redband, extended trailer for Scott Stewart’s new film, ‘Legion.’   It stars Paul Bettany as Michael, Kevin Durand as Gabriel, and Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black, Charles S. Dutton, Tyrese Gibson, and Adrianne Palicki as the human fodder for these bad ass servants of the Lord.   Doug Jones also shows up as someone called the Ice Cream Man, and, judging by the first, few seconds of this clip, he’s going to be giving movie goers nightmares come January 22nd.

It’s very bloody, and there just isn’t anything that quite spells the end of the world like an old lady spouting the F-bomb.   All in all, this looks like it’s going to be one sacriligious blast at the cineplex.   It’s even cooler that it has some A-list power behind its cast.

‘Legion’ comes out on January 22nd.   My nightmares of Doug Jones’ freakishly long arms begin January 23rd.

From the onslaught of upcoming horror films, ‘Zombieland’ seems to be at the top of a lot of people’s most anticipated lists.   This red-band trailer is sure to whet their appetites even further.   From what I gather, it’s essentially the same thing that was shown at Comic Con, and it’s available now for your viewing pleasures.

The Red Band trailer for ‘Jennifer’s Body’ has hit the web, and it looks pretty eexy. Of course it does star Megan Fox and is written by ‘Juno’ helmer Diablo Cody, but check out this synopsis:

The film follows Jennifer (Megan Fox), a mean-girl cheerleader possessed by a demon who begins feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. It is then up to her “plain Jane” best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) to kill Jennifer, escape from a correctional facility and go after lead singer Nikolai (Adam Brody) and his Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the transformation.

Hulu really is taking over the world.   Not only is Alec Baldwin extremely convincing in that Superbowl commercial, the site has got first dibs on the new red band trailer for ‘World’s Greatest Dad.’

I was lucky enough to catch this movie at CineVegas earlier this week, and I will have my review for it up soon enough.   I will say that it is sick and twisted in all the best ways, and it’s taking me some time to get my head all the way around it to talk about it in full detail.   Jody Hill sure seemed to like it.   God, that guy is fidgety in a movie theater.
