“The website reveals some seemingly “lost” footage of scientists talking about an (alien?) experiment.”

SUPER 8 Synopsis:

Columbia Pictures announced today the title of the next SPIDER-MAN film in its superhero franchise: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN . And at the same time the studio also released this first photo of Andrew Garfield in the famous suit and mask. Director Marc Webb is currently shooting Marvel Entertainment’s 3-D blockbuster.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves.

Deadline.com posted these awesome photos of THE AVENGERS cast at Comic-Con! Robert Downey Jr. introduced newcomers Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo as the new Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Paramount Pictures has put plans into full gear to get the word out for M. Night Shyamalan’s THE LAST AIRBENDER. As you can see below, producer Frank Marshall recently tweeted about a “massive AIRBENDER domestic and international marketing meeting,” along with a picture.

It’s an interesting sneak peek at the massive undertaking to build these sets on the East Coast of the U.S. As usual, I love to hear from M. Night. Paramount Pictures has posted the above picture of Dev Patel as “Zuko” over on the film’s Facebook page. Fans of Nickelodeon’s animated tv series…..what do you think of the live-action still of “Zuko”? Bad-ass or just bad?

Below are the newly released, eye-popping posters for the film and once again Shyamalan’s name is featured prominently at the top. While his last film, THE HAPPENING, didn’t do so well at the box office, or with (sigh) some critics, the studios still know who the real star of his films are.

Here’s another look at the trailer for THE LAST AIRBENDER in theaters in 3D and 2D on July 2nd, 2010.

The flashy  silhouettes  of a dashing man and a sexy woman.  The stylish pistol the man holds as he runs from…something.  The splotches of strange color against the backdrop indicating things are about to get bloody (for someone who bleeds yellow).  Just about everything on this poster (save for Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s names) cries out Bond.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing.  It’s a cool poster we have above for KNIGHT AND DAY, a film with a title that could almost pass as a Bond title, as well.

Nonetheless, the film is directed by James Mangold (GIRL, INTERRUPTED, WALK THE LINE, and 3:10 TO YUMA) and also features Peter Sarsgaard.  I hope beyond hope that Sarsgaard plays the film’s villain.

The film’s official site is also live, and we are sure to have a trailer hitting very soon.  KNIGHT AND DAY hits theaters on July 2nd, 2010.

There has been a barrage of footage from Cameron’s upcoming AVATAR.   So much so, in fact, in the last few months that some of us are starting to dream about cat-like Smurfs.   It’s creepy, really.   We are going to have even more footage thrust upon us this coming Sunday, as 20th Century Fox announced today they will be showing the new, 3 1/2-minute trailer on Cowboy Stadium’s Diamond Vision Screen, the world’s largest video display.   Thanks to Coming Soon for pointing this out to us.

So, it’s somewhat strange when you consider the film’s official website, which went live today.

Let me ask you this.   Does this shot excite you?

If not, then don’t worry about clicking on it.   It will just take you to AVATAR’s homepage, which is just what you see, a shot of a cliff with an embedded link re-directing you to the trailer housed on Yahoo!.   In fact, maybe this is a good thing.   With all the footage we have been seeing for this film, maybe they have decided to take a subtle approach on the website, just offering us a logo and a simple, exquisite shot.

Of course, I’m sure all of that will change, and, before you know it, you will be able to control your own N’avi via the site.   There will be a thousand hours of production footage.   All will be right in the Jim Cameron world.   For now, just enjoy the subtlety a little bit.

AVATAR hits theates on December 16th, but I’m sure you already had that tidbit of information drilled into your brain.

Screen Gems has given us our first look at Paul Bettany in the upcoming adaptation of the comic book ‘Priest.’  It looks like a poster is in order with the same graphic you see above.  Bettany looks creepy, and the movie looks to be quite the capper for next Summer.

Bettany plays a warrior priest living in a world that has seen centuries of war between man and vampires.  The priest disobeys church law in order to save his niece from these vampires.  Cam Gigandet also stars with Scott Stewart directing.

‘Priest’ is set for release on August 13th, 2010.

Summit Entertainment/Imagi Animation has let loose with half a dozen new stills from their upcoming ‘Astro Boy’ feature film.   These images include the first shots of Dr. Tenma, President Stone, and Dr. Elefun.

Also live is the timeline on the film’s official site.   It goes from the present date all the way back to 1928, the year Osamu Tezuka, the creator of ‘Astro Boy’ and “Father of Anime,” was born.

‘Astro Boy’ is set for release on October 23rd, 2009.

It’s a two-for-one day for M. Night Shyamalan fans! A day after the teaser appeared for ‘The Last Airbender,’ the film’s official site has been launched. Comes complete with the first teaser, wallpaper downloads, and  links to Facebook and Twitter pages. Producer Frank Marshall’s twitter page has been a   great source for the latest info on the movie too. Look for ‘The Last Airbender’    July 2,  2010.

As an added bonus, there is a link to the  long awaited official M. Night Shyamalan website. The initial front page was up last year during Night’s opening of ‘The Happening’ and there it stayed, until today. This  mysterious and very interactive  site  will take you  into Night’s  world, which include all his previous films (‘The Sixth Sense,’ ‘Signs,’ and ‘Lady in the Water’) and comes  complete with  a nifty intro into his  house and many “rooms” to navigate through. Beware! As you  roam around its secret passages and hidden rooms,  ”Prepare to embrace the dark and experience the cold.”

A few months ago I brought you THIS review of the film ‘Good Dick’ starring Jason Ritter and Marianna Palka, who also wrote and directed it. I absolutely loved the film; giving it a 4.5 rating. It was funny and well written, with interesting characters brought to life by great actors. I was lucky enough to meet Jason and Marianna after seeing the film and I later interviewed them for WAMG. You can hear our extremely long but hopefully fascinating interview right HERE. I am very happy to tell you that the film has finally been released on DVD. As Marianna and Jason told me, they are self-distributing the film. It is currently only available through the online store on their official website. In the store you can buy a limited edition first run DVD of the film, which features a special message from the filmmakers and deleted scenes. In our interview, Marianna mentioned that she had hilarious deleted scenes, a lot of which were Martin Starr improvising, that she planned to put on the DVD. Over at SlashFilm, they got themselves into a password-protected Company website for Legendary Pictures.Ă‚   This site lists titles of upcoming films, and here is something they found out there:

There you have it.Ă‚   Take this for what it’s worth.Ă‚   Just because they have a title doesn’t mean there is anything set in stone as far as pre-production goes.Ă‚   However, with this information out there now, it may not be too long before we get some kind of official announcement.Ă‚   Of course, we’ll keep you up to date on everything we hear.

What better way to cap off a weekend roadtrip to Chi-town to see ‘The Dark Knight’ at the Navy Pier IMAX than to also hit the Chicago Auto Show. Ă‚  At this year’s Auto Show, General Motors used the stage to show off five Chevrolet cars that are playing important roles in the upcoming ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’.

Let’s get to the pictures:

First up was the Chevy Volt, which will be playing the part of Jolt in the film. Ă‚  Chevy offered a view of the car as is:

…in skeleton form…

…and how the car/Jolt will look in the film.

Also on hand were subcompacts Chevy Beat and Chevy Trax, which will be playing Skids…

…and Mudflap.

The Chevy Camaro, which serves as Bumblebee in car form, was also on hand.

Bumblebee in robot form, all 17 feet of him, was also on hand to work security for the night.

I’m really not that big. Ă‚  Bumlebee is just about 12 miles back. Ă‚  It’s called “perspective”, folks!

The creme de la creme, however, was the Corvette Stingray Concept. Ă‚  This sweetness of a car will be playing Sideswipe in the film.

Yeah, I know there are a lot of pictures of the Stingray, but it’s hard to stop shooting something so pretty and shiny. Ă‚  GMĂ‚  says the Stingray Concept is simply a design exercise and isn’t indicative of a future model. Ă‚  That sucks. Ă‚  Middle-aged men all over the world would give up golfing for a chance to own one of these babies.

GM has also launched a site where you can sign up to get updates about Chevy vehicles and ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’.

The film comes out on June 24th.

Above you’ll see the first, official poster for Rob Zombie’s ‘Halloween’ sequel.Ă‚   I guess the official title, unless something changes in the coming months, is ‘H2′.Ă‚   This poster is similar to the artwork released right after the project was first announced.

Dimension Films has also opened the film’s official site.Ă‚   It’s just a teaser page with the poster right now, but check back often.Ă‚   Updates will be pouring in soon enough, I’m sure.

DreamWorks Pictures has unveiled a redband trailer for their upcoming comedy ‘I Love You, Man’. Ă‚  The film stars Paul Rudd as a man about to be married who realizes he has no best friend to stand next to him. Ă‚  He begins screening potential guys to hang out with and runs into the wackness that is Jason Segel.

With an impressive and stylish look, United Artists has given ‘Valkyrie’s official website a major overhaul from when I last saw it over the summer…Highlighted areĂ‚  the film’s score, slick interactive features, and most notably, a link to theĂ‚  brand new trailer from Yahoo. Having read an early draft of the screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects)Ă‚  and Nathan Alexander, I’m still optimistic from seeing the new footage. The PG-13 rating will surely help with getting the younger crowd in. Smart moveĂ‚  forĂ‚  Cruise – taking on the role of good guy and real life hero may improve his tarnished image.Ă‚  BeforeĂ‚  Bryan Singer’s ‘Valkyrie’ opens on December 26th, check outĂ‚  the superb 1967 ‘Night of theĂ‚  Generals’. One of the best movies based on the plot to kill Hitler.
