Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson and Christopher Walken star in these new images in CBS Films’ SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS.

A screenwriter (Colin Farrell) struggling for inspiration for his script, ‘Seven Psychopaths’ gets drawn into the dog-kidnapping scam of his oddball friends Billy (Sam Rockwell) and Hans (Christopher Walken). When a psychopathic gangster’s (Mickey Rourke) Shih Tzu goes missing, Marty finds he has all the inspiration he needs, as long as he can live to tell the tale.

From Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh, writer-director of the acclaimed hitman comedy ‘In Bruges,’ the film will be in theaters November 2, 2012.

The year is 1870, and a fragmented America still strains to pick up the pieces from a savage Civil War. Hey kiddos, Melissa here… and I have a short film that you have to see! GHILD, from Rose and Bomb Productions in association with Yarvo Productions, is a fairy tale for the giant child in all of us.

GHILD stars Michael Rosenbaum as Brauly Gullivan, an 8-year-old boy who has grown abnormally larger than those in his community. As Brauly struggles to fit in, his parents find raising a giant child, or Ghild, to be rather difficult.

Interview with Director David (Yarvo) Yarovesky

How did you and Michael Rosenbaum come up with the concept of GHILD? How did the idea come about?

Yarvo: Well I should say that me, Rosenbaum, and Rob Danson all created GHILD. We all talked about doing something and when we got in a room, we started talking about a friend of Rosey’s who has a head of a child and the boy of a woman… and they called her a GHILD. So anyway, one of the first visuals we talked about is this tiny mother, pregnant with a HUGE belly, lugging her stomach around in a wheel barrow. Obviously we couldn’t afford those big effects so it never made the final script… but quickly, Rosenbaum stared thinking about funny things that the GHILD could do. I started thinking about how awful childhood already is, and adding this defect… how it would destroy your family and effect your humanity. Rob started thinking about wild crazy things like the wheel barrow. We kinda mashed those things together and that’s GHILD.

Wait… Did this woman know they called her GHILD? 

Yarvo: I have no idea.. I don’t think i have ever met her. But I do expect to get accosted by a baby headed grown woman on the street one day.

You would probably deserve it.

Yarvo: Most likely.

With this being a short film, and you coming from a music video background, what was your biggest challenge making GHILD?

Yarvo: Well, it’s a different muscle. I enjoy making music videos, but I ****** love telling stories. I had been doing a lot of videos lately, and hadn’t shot anything completely narrative in a while… and I think I bit off a lot. I get really excited and think that everything I’m working on has to be perfect, and I have to push every dollar the absolute furthest. We had NO money, and I was like, lets build the house, and let’s have all this CG, and all this dramatic lighting, etc… it was just this HUGE idea, and we did NOT have the money to support it. THANK GOD FOR PANAVISION and Mike Dallatorre, our cinematographer. They got on board and really helped us.

How long did the film take to actually shoot?

Yarvo: The film took 2 days to shoot and a year to finish. The 2 days we had were psychotic! We would look across the stage and see Brauly’s bedroom as a stack of wood in the middle of the floor, and I would say “Hey… you know we’re shooting that scene in 15 minutes?” The art crew, Brent Mason and George Contorinis, were amazing, but as I said.. the time and money I gave them to work with was kind of a sick joke.

How did the casting process for this work? 

Yarvo: Well, Rosey knew Harland. I gotta give Rosey a lot of credit, because he wrote that scene for him… and it was a great scene. I loved shooting it, mostly because I had seen his stand up and thought it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. So, I was way more excited to work with him than I think he knew.

Did Rosenbaum want to play the lead?

Yarvo: Yeah, I mean from the genesis of the project, we were talking about making a vehicle for Rosey. We would play this party game Mafia all the time and talk about how we were doing a lot of other people’s work, but nothing that we could control and make our own. We had a lot of time to bond because everyone in the game would kill Rosey and I first, so we would just sit in his backyard talking while all his guests enjoyed the game.

So, you are admitting to being horrible at Mafia?

Yarvo: No, I take it as a compliment that the mafia kills me IMMEDIATELY. They know I’ll get em. I am admitting that you are horrible at Mafia.

I’ve played Mafia twice… I know I am horrible at it. You are a terrible teacher. 

Will you be taking on any more shorts in the near future? Do you and “Rosey” have any upcoming plans for collaborations?

Yarvo: Well, me and Rosey and Rob still talk about GHILD, and what’s next… that’s about all I can say about that for now…

Daniel Craig and cast and filmmakers of SKYFALL, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time, have arrived in Istanbul, Turkey. Their arrival marks the third time a James Bond adventure has filmed in the historic city. Previously, Istanbul served as a backdrop for scenes in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.

·   The film was shot on location in Istanbul in 1963 and includes lots of sweeping scenes of the City. James Bond visits the airport, the railway station, the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia and sails down the Bosphorus.

·   During production in 1963 Ian Fleming took Dana Broccoli sightseeing on a boat on the Bosphorus. Ian Fleming had a great knowledge of the city as he had been on an assignment as a journalist the year before. He based the character Kerim Bey on his friend, Oxford-educated, Nazim Kalkaren.

·   In Cubby Broccoli’s autobiography (The Man Who Brought James Bond 007 to the Screen), he says that in Istanbul, Ian was in his element. “He loved the sounds, the spicy smells, the bazaars, the street merchants and the belly dancers…”

·   The crew were shooting in Turkey for 22 days 22^nd April –  13^th May 1963

·   On the 29^th and 30^th April the crew were shooting the exterior of a narrow alley and outside the Sehzade Mosque, at night

·   Other Turkish locations include halkali region in Istanbul, kabatas ferry, pendik (Istanbul province), Adriatic Coast

·   In Cubby’s autobiography he writes that From Russia With Love gave him the opportunity to shoot in one of the world’s most exotic places, Istanbul

In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede (Jack Black) was one of the town’s most beloved residents. He taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone loved and appreciated Bernie, so it came as no surprise when he befriended Marjorie Nugent (Shirley MacLaine), an affluent widow who was as well known for her sour attitude as her fortune. Bernie frequently traveled with Marjorie and even managed her banking affairs. Marjorie quickly became fully dependent on Bernie and his generosity, and Bernie struggled to meet her increasing demands. Bernie continued to handle her affairs, and the townspeople went months without seeing Marjorie. The people of Carthage were shocked when it was reported that Marjorie Nugent had been dead for some time, and Bernie Tiede was being charged with the murder.

Fox Searchlight Pictures has released this first look of Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock in the upcoming drama HITCHCOCK (via People.com). Last week principal photography for HITCHCOCK started on April 13th in Los Angeles. I have to admit, with all the prosthetics on, the resemblance is remarkable.

The film will star Academy Award® winners Sir Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock and Dame Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma. Sacha Gervasi, whose big screen debut, ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL won the 2010 Best Documentary Feature prize at the Independent Spirit Awards, will direct from a screenplay by John McLaughlin, revisions by Ryan Murphy, Stephen Rebello and Sacha Gervasi, based on the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello.

HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie PSYCHO.

Marvel.com invited one and all to experience the world premiere of the Marvel Studios’ film MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS live from Hollywood as the stars arrived at the legendary El Capitan Theatre. Sponsored by Harley-Davidson, this event brought people up close and personal with MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS like nothing else before. Heroes owned the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in L.A. and last night real life injured heroes were thanked for their service by Hollywood’s superheroes including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson.

Scarlett Johansson described the red carpet as “a different kind of battle field” to the injured servicemen. Mark Ruffalo told the Wounded Warrior Alumni “I love the work you’re doing.”

In partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project, Red Baron was on the red carpet to recognize two servicemen that overcame wartime injuries and gave back to their communities. Not only did these two battle buddies share hugs with Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans, they invited all the stars, and Stan Lee to autograph a specially-designed, one-of-a-kind poster that will be auctioned on eBay Giving Works to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Stan Lee wished Army Specialist Jason Braase (Ret.) and Marine Corporal Adam Harris (Ret.) “best of luck” in their recovery efforts and citing “it would be a pleasure” to autograph the custom poster.

Check out these 4 new stills from Yam Laranas’ critically acclaimed horror flick THE ROAD, which will have its U.S. premiere (hosted by boxer Manny Pacquiao) May 9th in Los Angeles. THE ROAD tells the story of a twelve-year-old cold case that is reopened when three teenagers vanish while traversing an infamous and abandoned road. As investigators try to find leads to the whereabouts of the missing teens, they also unearth the road’s gruesome past that spans two decades – a history of abduction, crimes and murders.

THE ROAD is opening in limited release in theaters and VOD on May 11th from Freestyle Releasing and Freestyle Digital Media.

Directed by Yam Laranas, from a script he co-wrote with Aloy Adlawan, THE ROAD stars Carminga Villaroel, Rhian Ramos, TJ Trinidad, Barbie Fortenza, Lexi Fernandez, Derick Monasterio, Alden Richards, Louise de los Reyes and Renz Valerio.

FILTER Magazine and Roadside Attractions have teamed up to present a new pre-festival highlight — an inaugural movie screening for music fans arriving to the desert on Thursday, April 12. Partnering with Roadside Attractions, FILTER Magazine will present the West Coast premiere screening of David Mackenzie’s new film TONIGHT YOU’RE MINE in Palm Desert.

The film was shot entirely on location at Scotland’s famous T in the Park music festival. TONIGHT YOU’RE MINE follows indie music star Adam (Luke Treadaway — ATTACK THE BLOCK, CLASH OF THE TITANS) and feisty punk-rock girl band leader Morello (Natalia Tena — “Games of Thrones,” HARRY POTTER and co-founder of music fest favorites Molotov Jukebox) as they are bonded together by handcuffs after a backstage fight ensues. When the two feuding musicians are unable to be separated, even to perform their separate gigs, an odd-ball romantic comedy takes shape. TONIGHT YOU’RE MINE is filled with lust, mud, betrayal, booze, portaloos and a hundred thousand people celebrating the greatest music in the world.

TONIGHT YOU’RE MINE will screen twice on Thursday, April 12 at the Cinema Palm d’Or, at 7pm and 9pm.

Tracks from TONIGHT YOU’RE Mine were written by Eugene Kelly, founder of Glasgow band The Vaselines, and Luke Treadaway by working closely with electro-industrial producer Rico Capuano. Glasgow-based musician Brian McAlpine worked with The Dirty Pinks (Morello’s band), building on Tena’s influences and bringing a rockier, guitar-based edge to their sound.

Hi guys! Melissa here with an exciting new tale. THE WHOLE BANANA, an indie comedy slated to release in 2013, just wrapped up filming… and I had the chance to ask Kevin Sorbo, Kristy Swanson, Stelio Savante, and director Stephen Wallis a few questions.

In THE WHOLE BANANA, A Greek god (Kevin Sorbo) helps a struggling artist (Kristy Swanson) with her lagging love life. Dominique Swain plays Swanson’s best friend and confidant and Stelio Savante portrays Swain’s long suffering husband.  Matthew Perry will play Apollo, brother to Sorbo’s Hermes. Clint Howard (The Dilemma, How The Grinch Stole Christmas) and Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil) play Fran’s fellow nicotine anonymous addicts. Brought to the screen by Magik Shoppe Pictures, Stephen Wallis (Rain from Stars, The Wicked Within) directs and produces along with John Bennett Perry,  Stelio Savante and Tom Fox.

How did you become involved in THE WHOLE BANANA?

KEVIN SORBO: Stelio Savante, producer/actor, brought me the script an d offered the Hermes role. Laughed out loud the entire read and jumped on board.

KRISTY SWANSON: I read it and I liked it, I liked all the characters and my own “Fran”. I thought it had the potential to be a fun quirky and sweet film.

STEPHEN WALLIS: I became involved in The Whole Banana back in 2003 when John Perry, Matt Perry, Tom Fox and m yself produced the play at the Court theater in los Angeles. Deb Norton, the writer was also the lead in the play and I found it to be such a fun and rewarding experience. John and I kept in touch for several years and always looked for an opportunity for us to be able to turn it into a film. Luckily the fates aligned and we were able to put it together over the past few months.

STELIO SAVANTE: Director Stephen Wallis offered me a role and I read the script & accepted. I also told Stephen that some of my friends would be great in certain roles.  Once they joined the cast, I became an official producer and also got my agency to package the film.

KEVIN SORBO: It has me in it!!  Seriously, the cast was great!  Professional, talented group of folks on both sides of the camera. Extreme low budget. Everyone worked basically for free. This was a true indie and the team came together and ga ve their all!

Touted as the “an on-set blog from the producers of the film,” the official blog for ENDER’S GAME has launched. The sci-fi action pic is one of most anticipated films for next year. The film is based on the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card and stars Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kingsley, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin and Viola Davis. Production on the film began in late February in New Orleans and is being helmed and written by Gavin Hood (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE).

Official synopsis:
