It’s been on everybodys mind since it came to theaters. Is there going to be another Batman movie? Well President of Warner Bros. Alan Horn spoke up to clear all those rumors that have been circling around the entertainment world. He stated that really the only thing he is sure of is that the studio is still in talks with Nolan to do another one. I �can personally live with that because I think another Batman movie right now will be to quick. � Horn gave another statement saying, “We’ve been talking to Chris Nolan and what we have to do is get him in the right place and have him tell us what he thinks the notion might be for a great story, but Chris did a great job and we’d love to have him come back and do another one.†� To see the full interview with Alan Horn go to Collider and get in the loop.

While many people went to see “The Dark Knight,” only a few know exactly what happened at the end of the movie. If you have not seen “Knight” yet, do not keep reading.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

At the end of the film, Harvey Dent/Two-Face apparently fell to his death during a standoff with Batman and Jim Gordon in a warehouse. Some have suggested that Dent is not dead due to rumors that he will appear in the third Batman movie and the fact that there was no blood. Also, no coffin was seen at the Dent memorial. So could Two-Face be locked away in a hospital or a mental institution?

“The Dark Knight” producer Emma Thomas touched on the topic when IGN brought it up. Unfortunately, her reply was not very helpful, stating that fans could interpret it either way they’d like.

But what were the filmmaker going for? In the movie novelization, author Dennis O’Neil wrote, “Dent was sprawled, neck twisted, the mutilated side of his face exposed, his left eye open and staring sightlessly. He was obviously dead.”

And the script by Jonathan and Christopher Nolan � — included in “The Dark Knight: Featuring Production Art and Full Shooting Script” — states, “Dent lies at the bottom of the hole, his neck broken. DEAD.”

So there is your answer. Two-Face will not be returning for part 3.

Sources are tell the Enquirer (so you can only take this so far) that Nolan wants Johnny Depp to be Edward Nigma aka the Riddler in the third installment of the Batman film franchise. They also confirm a rumor that has been around a while that Phillip Seymore hoffman would appear as the Penguin, British Arms dealer. � I never even thought of Jack Sparrow as the twisted Riddler..What do you guys think? Is it a good fit or is the Enquirer pulling our leg again.

Comics not movies. Kevin Smith announce at Comic-Con that he is co-writing with pal Walt Flannigan a three issue mini-series for DC comic’s Batman. The mini-series will re-introduce a villain Smith originally created in his Green Arrow books called Onomatopoeia, a guy that can �perfectly imitate the sounds around him, rarely speaks and is skilled with weaponry. The first issue in the series is due to hit newsstands in November 2008.Kevin, I want to remind you that we are all still waiting (years) �for issues 2-4 of the Daredevil mini-series “The Target”. Keep your fingers crossed maybe we eill see the conclusion of both series by 2009.

Honestly, I don’t think I could rate this movie higher than ‘The Godfather’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, and ‘Pulp Ficition’.

What do you guys think? Do you see this as the greatest movie of all time? It is a little skewed, numbers 2 and 3 have 5-6 times as many votes as ‘The Dark Knight’ so the numbers will go down over time.

The Dark Knight officially opens to millions of screaming fans at 11:59 tonight, but it is already setting records at the box-office. The picture above might actually be imitating life..Warner Brothers �may have money to burn come Monday morning! �The film’s more than 4,366 domestic play-dates is a record, surpassing the 4,362 theaters for May 2007′s bow of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.” Double- and triple-screening at many venues means “Dark Knight” will play on 9,200 screensin the U.S. and Canada. As for estimated box-office revenue it is projected to fall just behind Spider-man 3′s $151 millionbut well above the Iron Man total of $102 million. The prior renderings of the Dark Knight, Batman Begins took in a modest 48 million on it’s opening weekend �and an overall total of $205 million. The original Batman still holds the title (for at least a few weeks) with a franchise best of $251 million. � After seeing the film, I am thinking that the Dark Knight will surpass Spider-man for the top spot among superhero flicks.

So what do you guys think? Will ‘The Dark Knight’ live up to all this hype that we have had to endure for the last 8 months? You have all read the early reviews, seen every tv spot, sorted through countless new images..whats it going to be? Will Charles leave the theater crying like a little girl, or will he hide under the seats to catch the next showing of it?

Personally I think that the movie will be better than ‘Batman Begins’ simply because I love the ‘Joker’, and I am excited to see what kind of twist Aaron Eckhart puts on ‘Two Face’ as we have pretty much only seen him in comedy roles. There has already been a negative review from the NY Times..

“The Dark Knight is noisy, jumbled, and sadistic. Even its most wondrous vision—Batman’s plunges from skyscrapers, bat-wings snapping open as he glides through the night like a human kite—can’t keep the movie airborne. There’s an anvil attached to that cape.”

That’s only my opinion, everyone chime in below …

Hollywood composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard will be performing elements of their score for The Dark Knight at the film’s premiere in New York. �To listen to 3 �samples of their awesome score, click here.

IGN and Reuters report the two composers will be performing together live for the first time, on stage at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square IMAX Theater prior to the film’s world premiere �this Monday, July 14, at 7pm.

Additionally, Zimmer and Howard will be signing copies of the soundtrack at Virgin Megastores in New York on Tuesday, July 15th, in Times Square at 7pm, and in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16th, at Hollywood and Highland, also at 7pm.

Warner Bros. Records will release four different configurations of the soundtrack for The Dark Knight:

• a standard jewel case CD
• a 2 LP set of heavy-weight 180 gram vinyl version
• a special edition digipack
• a collector’s edition with special artwork to come after release.

The soundtrack for The Dark Knight will be released on Warner Bros. Records on July 15 prior to the film’s nationwide opening on July 18.

Christopher Nolan didn’t throw any deleted scenes onto ‘Batman Begins’ and they are saying we can expect the same for ‘The Dark Knight’… From The Movie Blog:

“We know there won’t be any deleted scenes because there never are,†� says Roven, noting director Nolan puts everything of importance in the actual movie. “There weren’t any on BATMAN BEGINS and there weren’t any on this one.†�

I guess we can expect no director commentary on this one, like Nolan did for ‘Batman Begins’… is that being lazy or making people buy future re-releases?

Geeks know the date, it’s like December 25th or July 4th.

July 17th, by the way, will suck an awful lot. You know why? Because you know that if you just go to sleep, you’ll wake up to the gift of Batman. �

If you’re like me, however, you don’t need sleep. If you are a real geek, then you are probably going to be at a Thursday night midnight showing. I will be… oh, wait, I was going to be.

I was going to see it in style, too, in glorious IMAX at Universal’s CityWalk Stadium 19. I was totally prepared to have my mind blown right out my ass by the most pulverizing presentation of ‘The Dark Knight’ that you can experience. It’s all I could think about at work, and buying tickets is so easy. All you have to do is go online, get out that credit card and-

My phone rings while I’m at work. I don’t recognize the number, but I answer anyway. �

“Is this Nicholas Day,” asks the stranger?

“Yes it is,” says I.

“Nicholas, I am calling you from Capital One Visa’s fraud department. Did you recently make a purchase of $2,500.00 with your Capital One Visa card?”

“What?”

You see, I made no such purchase, but it turns out that someone in India did. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if the person(s) had spent the $2,500 on ‘Dark Knight’ tickets, but when I asked where my money went, the nice guy from the fraud department rattled off a name that sounded vaguely porn-ish.

So, my credit card account was frozen, and I was to receive a new card with a new number. That was Tuesday morning of last week. Last week was also when tickets for ‘Dark Knight’ midnight screenings went on sale. Naturally, those IMAX midnight tickets sold out immediately, because LA is jam packed with geeks. There’s a 3:15AM screening, but LA has enough geeks to sell out that show, too.

I got my new credit card in the mail yesterday. Tickets for July 18th ‘Dark Knight’ screenings are on sale. There is an IMAX screening at 9:15AM that day.

“I just returned from a screening and I wanted to commit this to a public forum as quickly as possible. Heath Ledger gives a blockbuster performance in the new Batman movie. His work, as The Joker, will absolutely be nominated for an Oscar, and at this point in the year, Ledger is also a hands-down favorite to win it posthumously. AP’s David Germain echoed the sentiment:

And lastly, Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers unequivocally states:

“If there’s a movement to get him the first posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch won for 1976′s Network, sign me up. Ledger’s Joker has no gray areas — he’s all rampaging id.”

Heath Ledger is getting a fond tribute from his collaborators on “The Dark Knight,” reports THR. The end credits of the “Batman Begins” sequel include a farewell note to Ledger, who died in January from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs; and to special-effects technician Conway Wickliffe, who was killed last September in a stunt-car accident.

“In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe,” reads the tribute included in the credits, which went up Thursday on the Warner Bros publicity Web site.

Ledger plays the villainous Joker in “The Dark Knight,” who begins a reign of terror on Gotham City that pits him against conflicted hero Batman (Christian Bale).

Beginning months before Ledger’s death, his frenetic performance and demented-clown makeup have been a cornerstone of the marketing campaign for the film.

“I needed a phenomenal actor, but he also had to be someone unafraid of taking on such an iconic role,” director Christopher Nolan says in the production notes for “The Dark Knight.” “Heath created something entirely original. It’s stunning, it’s captivating. … It’s going to blow people away.”
