Anyone of you guys can wear a shirt your favorite movie, but REAL movie geeks are into super obscure references and brand names from their favorite movies. If you know anything about me, then you know that I am a huge John Carpenter fan.   Everything the guy has done, I have to watch and I’m predestined to enjoy it.   Even schlock like ‘Ghosts of Mars’ and miserably directed pieces of work like ‘Pro-Life,’ I can’t help but enjoying on a principle level.

So you can imagine the tears of joy when I was directed to the new t-shirt from Dutch Southern.   It honors some of the best of Carpenter’s work, and creates the basis for what I think would be the perfect movie.

This is super cool! Nokia has a couple of viral videos circulating on the Internet to promote their new N96 mobile device. With the coming once again of Comic Con, the coolness starts rolling out! One of the coolest things I’ve seen already (thanks to @ThatKevinSmith on twitter) is this pair of Mezco-style custom Jay and Silent Bob figures by Kyle Robinson on deviantART. If you weren’t already aware of this, the U.S. Post Office will be hiking up the price of stamps, once again. The new run of first-class stamps will go from $0.42 each to the new rate of $0.44 each. However, to ease your troubled minds about this economically-relevant news, the Post Office revealed on Thursday a sneak peek at their new ‘Simpsons’ stamps, which will be available starting May 7, 2009.

“This is the biggest and most adhesive honor ‘The Simpsons’ has ever received,” said creator and executive producer Matt Groening. — Hollywood Reporter

Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite ‘Simpsons’ character on the website and they can also pre-order the stamps and register to win a limited edition ‘Simpsons’ poster, signed by Matt Groening.

I missed the boat on this one yesterday, but Pete at /Film posted this print that Ben Swift did for ‘The Big Lebowski’ and I am in love with it. This needs to be on my wall and if it isn’t I will probably kill over. These are completely sold out right now but ask and we might receive more prints.

We all know it… We all love it… and if you don’t, well… I’m not sure I know what to say to you. ‘A Christmas Story’ is a modern classic of Christmas movies, to many a staple (including myself) of the holiday season. For many like myself, it’s the best Christmas movie ever made and can relate to so much in the movie. So, as movie geeks, what do we do when we REALLY like a movie? We look for cool geek stuff to show how obsessed we are with that movie… that’s what!

1. So, now you’ve got your Christmas tree up and standing proud, but it’s looking a little naked. Before you go for the typical boring round glass ornaments, why not personalize your tree with memories of the greatest Christmas movie of all time? That’s right, turn your holiday pine into ‘A Christmas Story’ shrine! [Yeah, that's right... I rhymed.] These ornaments are part of the Hallmark series or ornaments and there are three to choose from: the leg lamp in crate (actually lights up), Ralphie in his aunt’s pink bunny costume and Flick being triple-dog-dared to stick his tongue to the flag pole. It’s no secret that I’m a shameless fanboy of Netflix. They’re the best thing to happen to home “video” entertainment since DVD. I was in Orlando a couple of weeks ago, and went up to Best Buy in an attempt to get the new Kevin Smith DVD. The dude that was helping me look it up in the system had this freaking badass tattoo. Instantly I knew that it had to go on “Super Badass Geek Stuff”, I told him about it and he agreed!

If you are in the Orlando area, go to Best Buy and meet this dude. I will put up a link to his MySpace page later and you can all tell him how sick/badass it is. Now I just need to take it to my artist and get the same done to me!

If you don’t know the name, you know the face.

Ted Levine broke into the spotlight when he played Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’. Â  He went on to have small roles in such diverse films as ‘Heat’, ‘Flubber’, ‘Wild Wild West’, and ‘The Fast and the Furious’. Â  In 2001, he beat out Eric Roberts to portray the voice of Rusty Nail in ‘Joyride’. Â  He currently plays Captain Leland Stottlemeyer on ‘Monk’.

The guys over at CHUD are some pretty badass geeks. Â  On their podcast, moderated by Nick Nunziata, they have an ongoing (fake) storyline about Ted Levine and how he ran for and lost a mayoral election. Â  Now, apparently, Levine is running for president, and it somehow correlates with the Mayan doomsday prophecy of 2012.

It’s all very confusing, but you can show your support, nonetheless. Â  For the low low price of $4.49, you, too, can have a bumper sticker showing your support for Ted Levine.
