It seems that this year’s Superbowl could be a lot more interesting than watching two teams fight for the prized trophy. Multiple studios will be airing 30-second T.V. spotsĂ‚  for their biggest movies.

Such high-profile titles that we will see spots for are Paramount’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,’ ‘Star Trek’ and ‘G.I. Joe’; Sony’s ‘Angels and Demons’; DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’, which will run their ad in 3D; and Universal’s ‘Land of the Lost’ and its fourth installment in ” The Fast and the Furious” franchise. Disney is also planning to use the game to raise the profile for Pixar’s next ‘toon, “Up,” while a “Wolverine” spot is likely from Fox.

With these movie spots NBC is sure to get great numbers in their ratings which is pretty much the point these days in television. Superbowl 43 takes place on February 1st so mark it on your calendars.

These are the first two photos to appear for the new movie ‘State of Play’ the newest movie form Universal and Focus Pictures. The movie stars an all-star cast of Russell Crowe, Rachael McAdams, Ben Affleck, and Helen Miren and is directed by acclaimed director Kevin MacDonald. The thrillerĂ‚  centers aroundĂ‚  Ă‚  a rising congressman and an investigative journalist embroiled in a case of seemingly unrelated, brutal murders.

Crowe plays DC reporter Cal McCaffrey, who’s street smarts lead him to untangle a mystery of murder and collusion among some of the nation’s most promising political and corporate figures. Affleck stars as the dashing yet secretiveĂ‚  Congressman Stephen Collins. For some reason when I think of this movie the originalĂ‚   ‘Manchurian Candidate’ with Frank Sinatra comes to mind. This movie hits theaters April 17th, 2009

This is the third film that this funny man has directed and in an interview said that for this film he wants to make a serious film that will still make you laugh till you can’t anymore. It’s been 9 years since we have seen this face and the voice, but all that is about to change because, my friends… ‘Scream 4′ could be on its way. If all of this is true, production could start this year.Ă‚   Now the problem is, how would this movie play out because in ‘Scream 3′ the movie kinda ended itself with the killer that was behind the whole thing. However, according to Jamie Kennedy in this new movie it will bring new and old characters back. As of December 13, writer Michael T. Kennedy was still waiting to hear from the Weinsteins about whether his script was a go. IĂ‚  have to say, if this movie gets a go I will definitely go see it because it’s ‘Scream’ and if Wes Craven is along for the ride this movie will be good.

It seems that Martin Scorsese is coming back to possibly direct the true life story of John Martoranom, the Winter Hill Gang hitman. It’s been confirmed that ‘Departed’ producer Graham KingĂ‚   has acquired the rights to the hitman’s life to go forth with the film.Ă‚  Also, ‘Departed’ screenwriter William Monahan will write the script that will tell Martorano’s story. The movie will showĂ‚  Martorano’s 20 murders and then him flipping to help the feds after learning that his gang was not so loyal. If all goes to plan, this will be the first true mob film that Scorsese will direct, so let’s hope it gets off it’s feet. Because I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing better than a good Scorsese flick.

Sequels are coming out everywhere you turn.Ă‚  A new movie called “Bitches”Ă‚  is trying to make its way to production. This is a movie by director Michael Dougherty and will serve as a sequel to “Trick r’ Treat”. This movie is a drama about a quartet of female friends in New York who are werewolves. Now does this sound at all familiar to anyone. The project is beingĂ‚  picked upĂ‚  by Fox Searchlight,Ă‚  which is not a surprise because they are the scary movie production company. Well for right now That is reallyĂ‚  all the information that has been given so far but this should be an interesting ride. This movie has let out that they might be planning to release this movie in 2009. IfĂ‚  that is the case 2009 will be the year of the werewolf as two other movies will be making the splash as well.

It’s been on everybodys mind since it came to theaters. Is there going to be another Batman movie? Well President of Warner Bros. Alan Horn spoke up to clear all those rumors that have been circling around the entertainment world. He stated that really the only thing he is sure of is that the studio is still in talks with Nolan to do another one. IĂ‚  can personally live with that because I think another Batman movie right now will be to quick.Ă‚   Horn gave another statement saying, “We’ve been talking to Chris Nolan and what we have to do is get him in the right place and have him tell us what he thinks the notion might be for a great story, but Chris did a great job and we’d love to have him come back and do another one.†ť To see the full interview with Alan Horn go to Collider and get in the loop.

Well, director of the movie ‘Australia’, Baz Luhrman is on the prowl to break away from the movie biz in the idea of making a trip to the movies an escape. With that, heĂ‚  has his eye on making a more modern version of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald book ‘The Great Gatsby’. Now, for you who have never read this book, it is not a happy go lucky movie with happy characters. This book deals with a lot of serious elements that may be too much for the typical movie goer. I can’t say I’m too surprised that Baz is looking to do something with this film because, let’s face it, ‘Australia’ was the longest movie to man and this book is no picnic either. However, that’s just my personal take on the movie. Getting back to the point, if this comes out it will be interesting to see who gets cast because they can’t get Robert Redford to play Gatsby again even though that would be awesome.

As I said before this is the year of comedies and more than that untitled comedies. Reese is the next actress to get the spotlight as she has signed on to do a comedy under director James L. Brooks.Ă‚  When it comes the movie it has been said that Brooks is diligently working on the screenplay. Witherspoon recently became available for a title role when the untitled Cameron Crowe romantic comedy was pushed from February to July. With Brooks’ comedy set to begin production in March, the film seemed like the perfect fit according to a calander.Ă‚  If this movie gets of the ground it will the directors sixth movie so wish him the best.

The Priest is finally making a comeback and is hoping that they can take this right to the theaters. A couple years back the adaptation of theĂ‚  comic book Ă‚  Ă‚  looked ready with Andrew Douglas to direct and Gerard Butler to star. As life is sometimes that combo didn’t work out right so Production company Screen Gems is trying again with their new directorĂ‚  Scott Charles Stewart.Ă‚  The Priest is aĂ‚  TokyoPop comic book. In the comic The Priest is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Just a Question what is with all these vampire movies coming out?

With the fourth ‘Terminator’ not even in theaters, writers and director McG are on the move to get a fifth movie on a roll with production company Halcyon. An announcement was among the news that came out of the Dubai International Film Festival.Ă‚  It has been confirmed that the star, Christian Bale, has signed on for three more movies… can I get a sixth, and from the looks of it we can expect good things. No decision has been made as to where to film the next ‘Terminator’ although the Middle East was mentioned as a locale. While there are many things still in the air, one thing is for certain… He’ll be back.

It’s in the works. Kenneth Branagh has been asked to direct Marvel’s next hero to get screen time… Thor! Now, their is no word yet on who will be playing Thor or any of the other characters. However, it is certain that Kenneth will direct and a Thor movie is making its debut in the theaters.

It’s official! Ă‚  ”The Sexist Man Alive” is hosting the 81st Academy Awards. The announcement was telecast by producer Laurence Mark and executive producer Bill Condon today.

“Hugh Jackman is a consummate entertainer and an internationally renowned movie star,†ť said Mark and Condon in a joint statement. “He also has style, elegance and a sense of occasion. Hugh is the ideal choice to host a celebration of the year’s movies and to have fun doing it.†ť

Actor Paul GiamattiĂ‚  is heading to ‘Babylon’. This indie thriller is also set to star Anthony Mackie. Directed by Andres Baiz from a script by Ian Stone, ‘Babylon’ will have Mackie play a Rasta from the isolated hills of Jamaica, while Giamatti plays a British minister, both of whom accompany a 12-year-old Jamaican boy from the Kingston ghetto as they try to outrun gangsters. Now, I have never been one to see these kind of movies, but I am a huge Paul Giamatti fan, so I can’t wait.

With bad news, good news usually erupts. Ă‚  This is the case for director Noah Baumbach. In his latest film, ‘Greenburg’, the director has lost his two main actors, Amy Adams and MarkĂ‚  Ruffalo. But on the flip side, the director/writer has snagged actorĂ‚  Ben Stiller to star in the movie. At least the film will have a bigger fan base being thatĂ‚  Ben Stiller is awesome, well at least to me. The film is supposed to center on the intimacies of relationships in the manner of Baumbach’s other movie’s.

It’s the best thing that Summit Entertainment has done since the idea of ‘Twilight’ came out. They are trying to get a MAN to direct the next couple of ‘Twilight’ movies all starting with ‘New Moon’. Now, I am not a biased person, but some females can’t do love scenes quick like men can. So, for that I am extremely grateful that someone sees it like me.

Chris Weitz is the new man that Summit is pursuing to get their ‘Twilight’ movies cranked out for all the loyal fans. Let’s hope take two will be better than one.

After theĂ‚  success of his directorial debut with ‘Gone Baby Gone’, actor/director Ben Affleck might be moving to ‘Arizona’… a movie based on true events. The movie has to do with the death of Don Bolles, an investigative reporter for the Arizona Republic. In 1976, Bolles was killed in a car bomb explosion as he was investigating the infiltration of organized crime into state government. Bolles was a co-founder of a group called the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE). The group’s members rallied after Bolles death to complete the work that he had begun. But, if you can’t wait to see that, remember that Ben is in two movies coming out after the new year… ‘State of Play’ and ‘He’s Just Not That into You’.

Actors John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill and Marisa Tomei are in final negotiations to join an untitled comedy for Fox Searchlight. The movie is going to be directed by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass. This will be the brothers’ studio directing debut.

The film centers on a recently divorced man (Reilly) who meets the woman of his dreams (Tomei). She has a teenage son (Hill) who has no interest in sharing his mother with a new man. Now, does this sound a little familiar… ‘Mamma’s Boy’ with John Heder? The brothers originally called the script for the movie ‘Safety Man’, but who knows if it will stay that way.

Well whoĂ‚  thought a comedy could be made off the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith and especially with actors Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. However that is not what Andy Tennant, director of Hitch, is thinking as he is directing an Untitled script off ofĂ‚  Sarah Thorp. The untitled film centers on a bounty hunter (Butler) hired to retrieve his ex-wife (Aniston), who has skipped bail. Production is hoping to get started on May for this project but for right now you can see both of these stars on the big screen in He’s Just Not That In To You, Aniston, and The Ugly Truth, Butler.
