Brigette Lundy-Paine And Samara Weaving To Play Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter Daughters In Orion Pictures BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC
Hammerstone Studios announced today that rising stars Brigette Lundy-Paine (“Atypical,” The Glass Castle) and Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) have been cast in BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC as Billie Logan – Keanu Reeves daughter (Lundy-Paine) and Thea Preston – Alex Winters daughter (Weaving ).
The two will play the daughters of the eponymous time traveling duo who join their fathers in their quest to save the universe.
They join alongside previously announced stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and William Sadler in the third installment of the Bill & Ted series. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Red 2, Fun with Dick and Jane) directs from a screenplay by returning franchise writers Chris Matheson (Imagine That, A Goofy Movie) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Now You See Me).
“When we saw Samara and Brigette together, it was like deja vu. It was exactly the way we felt when we first saw Keanu and Alex. We are so thrilled to have this funny and unique pair join the Bill and Ted team!” said producer Scott Kroopf.
Lundy-Paine currently stars in the Netflix original series “Atypical” opposite Keir Gilchrist. She recently wrapped shooting for Fair and Balanced previously known as the Untitled Roger Ailes Project, which is currently in post-production. Lundy-Paine recently appeared in The Glass Castle alongside Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts.
Weaving was most recently seen in Amazon’s “Picnic at Hanging Rock” and Fox Searchlight’s Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri. In 2017, Weaving starred in McG’s The Babysitter for Netflix. Earlier this year, Weaving wrapped production on Guns Akimbo directed by Jason Lei Howden starring opposite Daniel Radcliffe. Next up, she will be starring in Fox Searchlight’s Ready or Not set to hit theaters in August 2019.
BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC will be produced by Kroopf (Limitless, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) alongside Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce on behalf of Hammerstone Studios. Steven Soderbergh will be executive producing along with John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli.
Following 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the stakes are higher than ever for William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Reeves). Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.
Lundy-Paine is represented by Gersh. Weaving is represented by WME and Untitled Entertainment.
Orion Pictures will release the highly anticipated film through United Artists Releasing on August 21, 2020.
