George Meilies Shorts Friday Night in New Haven, MO Accompanied by The Rats and People Motion Picture Orchestra

A series of George Meilies Shorts will screen 8pm Friday Night April 6th at The Walt Theater in New Haven, MO. The films will be accompanied by The Rats and People Motion Picture Orchestra. Tickets can be purchased HERE

for a brief introduction of the importance and history of 
Short Film and a introduction of our main event


8pm: Live Orchestra Scoring from the balcony of the Walt!
Join Rats & People Orchestra at the Historic Walt Theatre
for a one-of-a-kind experience. Sit below and enjoy a
LIVE ORCHESTRA scoring a set of short films by the
father of special effects, Georges Meilies. Films include
ground-breaking shorts such as The Impossible Voyage
and The Merry Frolics of Satan.

 

About The Walt: 

The Walt Theatre is a fully restored Art Deco movie theater offering first run movies and special screenings

Operated and owned by Walter Buchholtz, the grand opening of The Walt was on November 14, 1940 with three showings at 2:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., with the western film “Wyoming” staring Wallace Beery. Admission was 10 cents for kids and 25 cents for adults.
