Spider-Man Eats Free at Carl’s Jr. And Hardee’s On Fourth of July

Comic book legend Stan Lee created America’s favorite superhero, Spider-Man, fifty years ago and now he’s helping spread the word about the Spider-Man Eats Free promotion at Carl’s Jr. © and Hardee’s© restaurants. Hungry fans who come to any Carl’s Jr. or Hardee’s restaurant on Independence Day dressed as Spider-Man will be treated to a free Amazing Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger, while supplies last. The special offer is part of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s promotion with Columbia Pictures’ release,The Amazing Spider-Man, coming to theaters in 3D July 3, 2012. Stan Lee also appears in radio ads promoting the offer.

“We know that with great burgers comes great responsibility,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for CKE Restaurants, parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. “So, we are doing our part to celebrate America’s birthday, Spider-Man’s birthday and the release ofThe Amazing Spider-Man film by giving anyone dressed as Spider-Man a free Amazing Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger on the Fourth of July. And, we were thrilled to have comic book legend Stan Lee help us spread the news in humorous radio ads and on-line videos.”

Starting at 11 a.m. July 4, any guest visiting their local Carl’s Jr. or Hardee’s restaurant in their Spider-Man costume will receive a free single Amazing Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger. Guests may come wearing an official store-bought Spider-Man costume or a homemade Spider-Man creation to be eligible. No masks please.

Fans can visit www.carlsjr.com/spidermaneatsfree and www.hardees.com/spidermaneatsfree for the latest “Spider-Man Eats Free” details and get costume inspiration from Spider-Man co-creator and comics icon Stan Lee, who stars in a series of humorous video vignettes for the promotion. The campaign is also supported by nationwide television commercials, as well as radio spots voiced by Lee, all created by Los Angeles-based ad agency 72andSunny.

“July 4 is a big day – America’s 236th Birthday, this year is Spider-Man’s 50th birthday, and it’s the day after the opening of the summer blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man,” added Haley. “We hope all of America will join us at Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s to celebrate.”

The Amazing Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger features a charbroiled beef patty, bacon, melted American and Swiss cheeses and mayo, all on grilled bread. For out-of-costume guests, prices start at $3.29 and may vary by location.
