SYNOPSIS:
From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar®-winning SIDEWAYS, THE DESCENDANTS is set in Hawaii and follows the unpredictable journey of an American family at a crossroads. Matt King (George Clooney), a husband and father of two girls, must re-examine his past and navigate his future when his wife is in a boating accident off Waikiki. He awkwardly attempts to repair his relationship with his daughters – 10 year-old precocious Scottie (Amara Miller) and rebellious 17 year-old Alexandra (Shailene Woodley) – while wrestling with a decision to sell his family’s land. Handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries, the Kings own some of the last priceless virgin parcels of tropical beach in the islands.
When Alexandra drops the bombshell that her mother was in the midst of a romantic fling at the time of the accident, Matt has to take a whole new look at his life, not to mention his legacy, during a week of momentous decisions. With his girls in tow, he embarks on a haphazard search for his wife’s lover. Along the way, in encounters alternately funny, troublesome and transcendent, he realizes he’s finally on course toward rebuilding his life and family.

THE DESCENDANTS Hits Theaters November 16th

I like a lot of movies that George Clooney’s in. However, if I had to pick a favorite, I choose Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The reasoning behind this choice is very simple. During my Cinematic Storytelling Course we were instructed to pick a scene from any movie and prepare a Shot List using that scene. I wasn’t sure what to choose because I have never looked at movies in that manner before. I went through my movie list and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is the movie I picked up. The scene that I tried writing a Shot List on was scene 7, My Baby’s Back. I should have known I would pick one of the hardest scenes to depict for a shot list. The incredible framing, camera movement and split screen in this section was amazing. I respect his efforts as a director and would love to see him act in this new movie The Descendants. Alexander Payne is an excellent director! I cannot wait to see this movie. I would be honored to see it in Los Angeles at The Landmark.
My favorite George Clooney movie is “Good Night and Good Luck.” His involvement in nearly every level of the production is incredibly impressive, and the movie brought to life an embarrassing but important part of American history for a new generation.
Fav GC Film: O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Why: His facial expressions were genius, such as when he was lip syncing and any time he expressed.surprise. The film ws brilliant and superb vehicle to display GCs great acting talent.
my favorite george clooney movie would have to be “Ocean’s Eleven!” He is so amazingly suave and beautiful. He made the movie so amazing!
George Clooney is one of my favorite actors and I really enjoy watching all of his movies. My favorite movie would be Ocean’s Eleven because I love Vegas, the casinos, and the action and adventure in the movie and best of all George is starring with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts who are also fantastic actors in the movie and also enjoy their work.
like all of his movies, but ‘o brother’ was really funny, so different from his other movies.
I really liked Ocean’s 11. The plot and characters were all great.
I enjoy all of Georg Clooney’s movies. My favorite movie was
“ONE FINE DAY because he played the role of a vulnerable, single father, realisticlly, with love and caring of his child. It made me think that it is possible to move on after divorce with hope and commitment for a happy ending.
Batman and Robin
Please disregard my prior entry I thought it was in St. Louis, Mo. Thank you
