Vincent Price Presents at Star Clipper, a new art exhibit opened last Friday, April 29th at the gallery at Star Clipper Comics, St. Louis’ premiere comic shop located at 6392 Delmar Blvd. in the Loop area of St. Louis. The opening night reception attracted a huge crowd of people who enjoyed the artwork and the free Lemp Beer. This exhibit features paintings and illustrations of Vincent Price to tie in to Vincentennial, the Vincent Price 100th Birthday Celebration, a multi-venue event being thrown by Cinema St. Louis here in the iconic actor’s hometown to honor the centennial of his birth. The showcase artist for the exhibit is Joel Robinson, who created the vivid covers for the first eight issues of Bluewater Comics’ Vincent Price Presents series as well as the Vincentennial logo. Shana Bilbrey, popular genre artist and regular contributor to Little Shop of Horrors and other publications will display her take on Price as well as many St. Louis-based artists including Bob Shay, Sherry Nillissen, Richard Bernal, Aaron Anderson, Jimmy Valentine, Paul Daly, Max Iver, Jeff Weigel, Russ Rosener, Barry Brosch, Fred Meyer, and We Are Movie Geeks own Jim Batts. The exhibit is curated by Tom Stockman, Event Director of Vincentennial. Most of the art will be for sale and there are prints of some of the art to purchase. The Vincent Price Presents at the Star Clipper exhibit will run through June 29th.
